With your guide, discover the city's fabulous architecture and its tall, gabled houses as you cruise along the water. You will sail on the four major canals that encircle the center of Amsterdam: Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht, and Singel. The Singel River was transformed into a canal in the 14th century to become part of the city's defensive belt. The other three canals were designed at the beginning of the Golden Age to expand the city. Construction began in 1560 and lasted for over a hundred years. Today, the historic center is surrounded by these four semi-circular canals, all running parallel to one another. The layout follows the sun's path so that each house receives sunlight at some point during the day. On a city map, Amsterdam resembles half of a bicycle wheel. Enjoy this moment!

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
