Grootbos Garden Lodge

Grootbos is a 3,500 ha (8,649-acre) private reserve overlooking Walker Bay, with fynbos, milkwood forests, and coastline. Since opening in 1994, it has grown into a conservation-focused property protecting more than 1,000 plant species. The Grootbos Foundation supports conservation, community development, and training through its Green Futures college. Garden Lodge was rebuilt in 2022 using sustainable materials and energy systems.

Rooms & Suites
Accommodation includes Forest Lodge (16 suites), Garden Lodge (11 suites), and two private villas. Forest Lodge welcomes guests aged 12 and over, while Garden Lodge accepts all ages. Suites feature sea views, private decks, separate lounges, fireplaces, underfloor heating, and air conditioning. Amenities include Wi-Fi, smart TVs, minibars, tea and coffee facilities, and safes. Bathrooms provide Just Pure toiletries, with outdoor showers in Forest Lodge suites. All suites are non-smoking.

Hotel Amenities & Facilities
Both lodges have restaurants serving farm-to-table cuisine and fresh local seafood, alongside wine cellars and bomas for traditional South African dinners. Full-board rates include meals, water, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Forest Lodge has a heated infinity pool, while Garden Lodge has a heated pool and children's playroom. Each lodge offers a spa with three treatment rooms; Forest Lodge also has a gym, and Garden Lodge has a sauna. Guests can enjoy self-guided walks, with activity transfers included. Wi-Fi is complimentary, and airport transfers are available at extra cost.
