Luxury Tanzania Safaris

Luxury in Tanzania is more than fantastic accommodations, copper bathtubs, outdoor showers, and curated cuisine. What you are really paying for is privacy, exclusivity, and location: camps set near the best wildlife and far from other lodges, where you can watch a leopard on a kill without ever sharing the sighting with another vehicle. We build luxury safaris around camps from operators we trust, including Lemala, Asilia, Legendary, Elewana, &Beyond, and Nomad. Browse the luxury trips below, or ask a specialist to match the right camps to your season and route.

Plan smarter. Spend better.

Tanzania Family Safaris

Tanzania is one of the best safari countries for families, and the trip works best when it is built around your kids. Most lodges welcome children 6 and up, though some luxury camps set higher minimums, and the sweet spot for a first safari is around 8, depending on the child. For families we favor fly-in routes over long drive days, lodges with pools, and camps with interconnecting family tents, flexible meals, and kid-focused guides and programming. Some even offer junior guide activities and on-site nanny services, so parents can take a game drive while little ones stay back. Kids 7 and up can float over the plains in a hot air balloon; bush walks are reserved for ages 12 and older. The classic family formula is safari first, then a few easy nights on Zanzibar. Browse the family trips below, or ask a specialist to build a route around your kids' ages and interests.

Tanzania Tour FAQs

How much does a Tanzania tour cost?

In peak season, plan on roughly $750 per person per night for budget-minded lodge trips, $1,000 to $1,500 for classic tented camps and midrange lodges, and $2,000 to $4,000 for luxury camps and fly-in routes, with green-season rates running 10 to 20 percent less. Quotes cover most on-the-ground costs, including park fees, meals on safari, and game drives. International airfare, visas, insurance, and gratuities are separate.

How many days do I need for a Tanzania tour?

Most first-time safaris run seven to ten days on the ground, enough for the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and one more park. Add three to four days for Zanzibar or six to eight to climb Kilimanjaro. Four to five day trips work if you fly between parks.

Can I customize a sample itinerary?

Yes. Every trip on this page is a starting point. Tell your trip planner your dates, budget, and interests, and we will adjust the route, lodges, and pace to fit, or design something entirely new. There is no cost or commitment to talk it through.
