Highlights
Kayak through the jungle for the chance to see gaur, elephant, and tigers
Hike through Khao Sok National Park to spectacular views
Stay two nights at a floating ranger station on Chiew Lan Lake
Activities that provide a reasonable level of physical challenge and elevate the heart rate. Focused on more active pursuits including multisport tours. Travelers may be active 5-7 hours total each day. Recommended for travelers with active lifestyles.
You are picked up at a Phuket hotel or the airport and drive three hours north to Khao Sok National Park. Unload gear at Ratchaprapa Dam and get your first glimpse over the open water of the tall mountains of Khao Sok. From here, access Chiew Lan Lake by taking a long-tail boat towards the park. Travel past gigantic limestone mountains as you make your way deeper into the park towards the secluded raft house. Arrive and settle in for a swim or some relaxation before lunch.
This afternoon head out on a guided hike to Khao Sok's highest viewpoint! Once back at the raft house the day is yours to hop aboard the kayaks and paddle around the canals close, swim in the cool waters, or just relax. Listen for gibbons calling each other between the islands and look up to spot osprey and other birds.
Rise early to the sounds of the jungle and set out for a morning paddle. Mammals and other large animals are more active at dawn and if you are lucky you may spot gaur, elephant, or even wild tigers coming near the water for a morning drink. Return to the station for breakfast and set out on a long-tail boat ride around the lake to a trekking trail. Hop on land and start a hike through the lush jungle. The final stretch of the trail is steep and needs to be climbed, but you are well rewarded at the top with a magnificent view of the lake and surrounding park. Arrive back to the ranger station in time for dinner and storytelling about what was seen during the kayak. Overnight in floating huts tonight.
Hiking time: 2 hours
Day 3: Return Phuket
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch
This morning around sunrise, drop your kayak in the water and set out for a paddle in a small canal nearby. Keep your eyes peeled for signs of animals along the shorelines. Return to the ranger station for breakfast and enjoy the morning free to swim and relax, taking in the scenery.
After lunch, pack everything back up on the long-tail boat and return to the dam and drive back to Phuket airport or a hotel late this afternoon.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.

The holiday of a lifetime. The company is Alaksa-owned and thhat makes a big difference to the experineces you get i.e. meet genuine First Nations tribes people. The amount of wildlife was beyond my expectation, and seeing everything on sucha small, intimate boat made it even more spoecial and unique.

It was an outstanding, up-close, educational vacation of nature, culture, history, animals and geology! It was everything they promised! Binoculars were plentiful on the boat, but I'm glad I brought my own. Food was excellent. Rooms had black-out shades. Pack/wear multiple layers of clothing (I carried a small backpack when off the ship). Crew were delightful and very accommodating! Remember to jump FEET FIRST first when taking the optional polar plunge! Spend as much time outdoors as you are able and ENJOY!!!

Excellent travel advice and service
This is my second experience working with Adventure Life. I’m sold. Jess Heuermann is an experienced traveler and provides a lot of useful information when planning a trip. These are the questions I like to ask at the outset - What’s it like to go here, there, what would you suggest, what do people report, can we add any additional side trips? Jess took the time to answer my questions and seek additional information to share with me. Petchie Colina is outstanding in helping with travel logistics and final preparations. Adventure Life has excellent guides and offers private guides and small group adventures. We enjoyed the opportunity to talk with the guides and drivers to learn more about their countries, cultures and histories. A highlight was having the guides pick local restaurants where we could share meals together. Highly recommend.

Our six-day tour in Iceland went smoothly with one exception. We had asked for two rooms each night. Somehow we were booked with one room with three beds. It could not be fixed at the first hotel in Reykjavik because the hotel was fully booked. Once informed of the problem, however, Adventure Life rebooked for two rooms for the remainder of the trip. As an 85-year-old traveler, I appreciated that one could participate at different physical levels at many of the stops. Iceland is a great place to visit but on the expensive side.
