Spend 15 days exploring the stunning South Georgia, which includes historic sites like the Falkland Islands as well as amazing wildlife. This cruise was designed for amateur photographers of all skill levels. This program begins and ends in Santiago, Chile, where a flight will take passengers directly to Stanley, Falkland Islands for embarkation and disembarkation. Your expedition begins early in the morning at the Santiago de Chile airport, where you take a transfer flight to the Falkland Islands. Welcome to Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands, and the starting point of your cruise. Embarking in the Falklands minimizes your days at sea, allowing for more time for landings and photography! In the afternoon, we transfer you to the pier, where we warmly welcome you aboard our expedition ship, M/V Sea Spirit. Get comfortable in your home away from home for the extraordinary adventure ahead.
As you sail east towards South Georgia, you will be able to witness incredible wildlife. Will also cross the Antarctic Convergence, the biological boundary of the Southern Ocean.

This cruise was designed for amateur photographers of all skill levels, so use this chance to make new friends, exchange your photo experience and attend the photography master classes. Discussing ISO and exposure is always better in the cozy bar, restaurant, or lounge.
South Georgia is the best place on Earth for wildlife and landscape photographers. Sea spirit will take you to great locations for the best light. The archipelago is the home to hundreds of thousands of king penguins, which makes South Georgia the best spot to photograph these wonderful creatures. The plan is to visit the most picturesque sights such as Gold Harbour, Cooper Bay, Drygalski Fjord and other great places. For example, the beaches such as those at Salisbury Plain and St. Andrews Bay, where over 100,000 elephant seals and three million fur seals jostle for space among innumerable penguins.
The bountiful waters surrounding South Georgia are also inhabited by an increasing number of whales. The historical whaling station of Grytviken is now home to the excellent South Georgia Museum managed by the South Georgia Heritage Trust. This is also the final resting place of Ernest Shackleton, the legendary polar explorer.
However, the route and exploration opportunities in South Georgia are heavily dependent on the weather conditions encountered. The experienced captain and expedition leader decide the itinerary and continually adjust plans as conditions and opportunities warrant. You can be sure that the best possible advantage will be taken of the circumstances presented to us by Nature in this wild and remote corner of the world. Sea spirit take every safe opportunity to go ashore in this amazing place and take the best wildlife photos.
It is time to head back towards the Falkland Islands. However, adventures are not over yet. Sea spirit will pass the remote, seabird-covered pinnacles known as Shag Rocks on the way (get your cameras ready!) There is also time for festivities such as the Captain’s Farewell Cocktail and the end-of-voyage slide show. You will share impressions, review all the great photos you’ve taken and enjoy good company of new friends.

The adventure finishes in Port Stanley. Disembark after breakfast and provide transfer to the airport. Have a safe flight to Santiago. Sea spirit recommend you to explore the wonderful capital of Chile and spend more time here. Adventure Life has been an extraordinary travel resource for us over the years and today was no exception. Our River Cruise booking was handled by Jess (who has been our personal trip planner for several years) the same day as our inquiry. Suggestions were given for cabin choice and pre-trip options (that were not shown on the cruise line's website) like airport transfers and prepaid gratuities. Trip insurance recommendations followed and we were assigned a travel co-ordinator till the end of the tour. All we have to do is show up! Great service from friendly folks.

Our travel was flawless! The rider pickup (airport, hotel, ship) was seamless. Jane's recommendation for Emerald Cruise Sakara was everything I wanted but the experience was soooo much more. Adventure Life took care of each and every detail and this was the easiest of all my travels.
