Up at 5:30 cruising the beach was already warm and the poor turtles were stranded in all the wood washed up on the beach from high tide, about 5 of them then scurried back into the ocean.
Tom tightened up his steering bearing again and we then left our $40 a night room ,with pool and breakfast . Headed down to Quespa where Tom had lunch on a nice beach and then proceeded till dusk to Sierpe, not knowing where the hell we were , and found a so called lodge where they had no water or pop not to mention beer, served us some snapper that was oh so nice.
Got up at 5 am cause the fisherman next door didn't worry that we were trying to sleep so we got up and left our fine abode for Port Jimenez. It's open season on cocks here I guess they are scaring the terrorists away and are going to kill 800 !
Ferried across the Rio Sierpe and was a fantastic ride through the mountains not knowing where we were going to end up but knew we were going in the right direction, well so we thought. Would have been great to be able to speak Spanish, just the basics would have helped tremendously . Arrived in Rancan which wasn't too bad and then continued on to Port Jimenez where Tom had some pancakes and coffee.
I then went on a hike on my own for five hours in the rain forest. Once again I was ill prepared for a jungle hike, was lucky cause 2 German girls found me and we proceeded to a beautiful waterfall where we all took a well deserved dip, was very refreshing but ten minutes later you are just soaking again from the sweat and rain. Was a little concerned cause we were running out of daylight and I had forgotten my torch , the lady at the hostel sent out a guy to come look for me whom I met on the trail and told me to hurry back . Was a mud bog the rest of the way and had to wade through a river and got back at dusk and the old duck pretended she was happy to see me and could not believe that I had hiked to the waterfall. Ignorance is bliss.
Excellent travel advice and service
This is my second experience working with Adventure Life. I’m sold. Jess Heuermann is an experienced traveler and provides a lot of useful information when planning a trip. These are the questions I like to ask at the outset - What’s it like to go here, there, what would you suggest, what do people report, can we add any additional side trips? Jess took the time to answer my questions and seek additional information to share with me. Petchie Colina is outstanding in helping with travel logistics and final preparations. Adventure Life has excellent guides and offers private guides and small group adventures. We enjoyed the opportunity to talk with the guides and drivers to learn more about their countries, cultures and histories. A highlight was having the guides pick local restaurants where we could share meals together. Highly recommend.

Our six-day tour in Iceland went smoothly with one exception. We had asked for two rooms each night. Somehow we were booked with one room with three beds. It could not be fixed at the first hotel in Reykjavik because the hotel was fully booked. Once informed of the problem, however, Adventure Life rebooked for two rooms for the remainder of the trip. As an 85-year-old traveler, I appreciated that one could participate at different physical levels at many of the stops. Iceland is a great place to visit but on the expensive side.

Jess was very easy going and answered all our questions. It’s not easy dealing with 6 people at once but she did an outstanding job!

Kassandra and the Adventure Life team have been incredible! Kassandra was very knowledgeable and attentive to our asks while making sure we kept within our budget. This was our first experience with a travel agent and we were blown away by the booking/initial exploration service. We will use Adventure Life again.
