Day 1 Full day Excursion to Chiloè Island (Ancud and Caulin)

Start your excursion this morning by taking the ferry from Pargua across the Chacao Channel to the big island of Chiloè. Visit the beach of Caulin, also known as the Bird Sanctuary; named for its large number of seabirds. Here you will be able to taste delicious local oyster dishes (not included in the price of the excursion). Afterwards head to Ancud; where you'll visit the Plaza de Armas Museum. Here you will learn about the mythological characters of the archipelago. Finally, visit the Gulf of Quitalmahue, Huaihuen Hill, and San Antonio Fort, a historic site built in the late eighteenth century, located near the upper part of the city before returning to Pargua.

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
