Check into Hotel O'Tai and enjoy a good night's rest in preparation for the next day's activities.
Day 2: Sacred Village of Orongo | Solar Eclipse Viewing
After breakfast, climb the dormant Rano Kau volcano, enjoying panoramic views of the island's unique geological features. Reach a viewpoint overlooking the volcanic crater lake. Visit the sacred village of Orongo, famous for its birdman competition, and discover petroglyphs while admiring views of the Motu Nui, Motu Iti, and Motu Kao Kao islets from the cliffside. Head down to Ahu Vinapu, an unrestored site showcasing Pre-Incan architectural influence. Finish your morning at the fishing port of Hanga Piko, where you’ll see the rehabilitated Ahu Riata.
After the morning excursion, have a box lunch before finding the perfect spot to witness the solar eclipse. Guided by expert advice, you can choose your ideal viewing location for this extraordinary event.
After the eclipse, spend the afternoon relaxing and exploring the landscapes and rich history of Rapa Nui at your own pace.
Day 3: Hanta Te'e Bay | Rano Raraku | Ahu Tongariki | Anakena Beach
Enjoy breakfast and then travel to the southern coast to explore the unrefurbished Ahu Vaihu platform in Hanga Te’e Bay and discover the remains of an ancient village. Continue to the Akahanga complex, believed to be the legendary king Hotu Matu’a's final resting place.
Visit Rano Raraku, a quarry with nearly 900 stone statues, 397 of which line the slopes of this dormant volcano with a crater lake. Enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant with panoramic views of Rano Raraku. Then, explore Ahu Tongariki, known for its restoration of 15 Moais. Return to Hanga Roa for lunch, then head to the East Coast to see Ahu Te Pito Kura and the "Navel of the World."
Finish at Anakena Beach, home to the restored Ahus Nau Nau and Ature Huke, and relax by the Pacific Ocean before returning at the hotel.
In the morning, hop in a vehicle and head to the old remains of Vai Tea's ancient sheep farm. Then, start the climb, going up nearly 500 meters to reach the top of Maunga Terevaka, the youngest volcano on Easter Island. Up there, get an awesome 360-degree view of the island's coastline and the vast ocean. The place feels so isolated, making you feel like you’re at the edge of the world. After a quick rest, start heading back down, where your vehicle is ready to take you back to the hotel.
Note: This is the only private excursion in this itinerary; the rest are shared small group excursions with other travelers.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!

Mary Curry is the BEST! I have worked with her for multiple family trips for over 10 years, and she is responsive, works within your preferences and budget, has great suggestions and has personal travel experience at many of the locations. We prefer active family vacations and Adventure Life and Mary Curry make sure that is what we get!

My tour operator was helpful. Unfortunately she was unable to get my single-supplement canceled. Not too many tours charge for that anymore and I almost canceled my trip because of that.

Excellent communication and coordination for our proposed trip. It couldn't have been smoother, and any question we did have was rapidly addressed. It has made the whole process nearly seamless.
