Start the day cycling along Eberhard Fjord toward Puerto Pratt, founded in 1899 to secure Chilean territory in Última Esperanza. Proceed to Puerto Consuelo, an estancia founded by Hermann Eberhard in 1893, looking for a place to raise sheep. Eberhard's exploration led him to discover your next destination: the Mylodon Cave. This cave, now a national monument, reveals the stories of early humans who found shelter here. In 1895, Eberhard uncovered prehistoric Mylodon skin remnants, offering a glimpse into the life of this ancient megafauna.
Take a leisurely walk through the cave and spend the next four hours hiking the Rupestre trail. Along the way, admire forests filled with typical Patagonian trees such as Ñirre, Lenga, and Coihue. Discover three secret caves with breathtaking cave paintings and the viewpoint, where you can frequently see majestic condors soaring through the air. Following that, a private transfer will take you to Riverside Camp, where you will spend the night.
Start your day with breakfast before heading to Grey Lake to meet your kayaking guide. With Paine Grande and Grey Glacier in view, you’ll get a quick briefing on safety and paddling techniques. Then, glide through the lake for 2 hours, weaving among icebergs shaped by wind and sun. As you paddle, take in the stunning granite peaks of Paine Grande, Cordon Olguín, and Los Cuernos, all reflected in the turquoise waters around you.
After leaving Grey Lake, begin your thrilling descent down the Grey River, navigating through canyon rapids framed by towering rock walls. As you paddle 25 km (15.5 miles), stunning views of the Paine Massif will guide you towards the Serrano River. After 4-5 hours on the water, you will arrive at camp, ready to stretch out and enjoy a well-earned dinner.
Paddling time: 4-5 hours Distance: 22 km (15.5 miles) Driving Time: 30 minutes private transfer
Day 3: Hike to Base of the Towers Lookout | Puerto Natales | Return Home
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch
Start your day with a power-packed breakfast before your final trek to the iconic Towers. Your guide will lead you on a 2-hour transfer to the Las Torres Sector, where the adventure begins with an ascent along the Ascencio River into the Ascencio Valley. After about an hour, pause to take in the breathtaking views of beech forests, glaciers, and waterfalls. Continue uphill through the lush forests before tackling a massive terminal moraine. At the top, you're rewarded with the stunning sight of the three towers, standing tall at 900 m (2,953 ft.). Enjoy the moment, take photos, and have lunch at this unforgettable viewpoint. Then, descend the same trail to meet your private transfer back to Puerto Natales.
Note: The hike is demanding, and many parts of the trail are steep. The trek is a minimum of 8 hours along challenging, rugged mountainous terrain. This trek is suitable for travelers with strong physical stamina.

Kate was great to work with in the planning stage. She was prompt, helpful, and efficient. Our tour guide, Edwin, was knowledgeable and passionate. We were very happy to have traveled with Adventure Life, it made the trip easy and a true pleasure. We could concentrate on enjoying the experience rather than the details of travel.
We worked with Franny initially and then once we booked we worked with Phen. Franny was very patient and not pushy as we considered our choices. They both got back to us immediately when we had questions.
Expedition cruises are very weather dependent, we knew we were going to see Glaciers, Marine Life, Landscapes but just didn't know when and where. We had some rain, sleet and snow then followed by absolutely beautiful weather. The captain and expedition team were very conscientious for our safety as well as providing us with a fulfilling and educational experience.

Erin and Juliane have been very helpful. The planning has been smooth and stress-free. My concerns and questions have been answered on a timely manner. I was referred to a booking agent for flights that made it easier to plan international and local flights. There's also a Trip Planner website that provides good information as well as a single location for documents related to this trip.

Adventure Life planned a stunner of a trip for our family ONCE AGAIN! This is our 7th trip with Adventure Life. We chose the Chile North to South adventure with add-ons of Magdalena Island to see the penguins; Las Torres hotel in Patagonia; Calafate, Argentina to see the Perito Moreno glacier and finally, Buenos Aires. We were active every day! Biking in vineyards, trekking at 14,000 ft above sea level and seeing vicuña and vizcacha everywhere after having almost the entire El Tatio geyser park to ourselves, an evening tour viewing the stars and galaxies in the Atacama Desert, River Rafting and hiking between volcanoes and glacial lakes in the mountain lake region of Peurto Varas, hiking the French Valley, Las Torres and riding horses in Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia, walking on the glacier and drinking glacial water and hearing those thunderous booms of ice calving at Perito Moreno in Calafate, Argentina and biking 30 miles through Buenos Aires to the suburbs where we kayaked the Tigre River Delta. So much fun!! I even wore my adult children out!!
