Begin the day with hotel pickup in Santiago and travel by shared van to El Cajon del Maipo. Follow a scenic mountain road with views of rivers, cliffs, and vineyards. Arrive in the village of San José de Maipo for a light breakfast and a short walk to see local architecture.
Continue toward the Andes Mountains to reach the base of San Jose Volcano. Join a guided hike to a lookout point located 2,500 meters above sea level. Walk along rocky trails with views of wildflowers and snow-covered peaks. Spot condors overhead and enjoy a box lunch at the viewpoint, where the San José Volcano and nearby hills dominate the landscape.
After the 3-hour hike, transfer by vehicle to Valle de Colina Hot Springs. Relax in natural outdoor thermal pools, set on terraces formed by mineral deposits. In the evening, return to Santiago.
This activity can be combined with activities in the El Morado or El Colorado areas.
