Jinshanling Section Hiking Trips

This challenging 4-day Great Wall tour explores Gubeikou, Jinshanling, Wangjinglou, and wild Jiankou. You trek steep ridges and quiet paths far from the masses, visiting ancient villages along the way. It serves as an excellent extension to other China tours, offering a deeper, active experience beyond a standard Beijing day trip.

Explore China on foot on this active 13-day tour. Hike the unrestored Jinshanling section of the Great Wall, see the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an, and watch giant pandas in Chengdu. Stand beneath the Leshan Giant Buddha, trek between Zhuang and Yao villages in the Longsheng rice terraces, and hike a quiet stretch of the Li River to Xingping.

This 2-day extension follows two remote sections of the Great Wall of China: Gubeikou, built in 1378 to repel Mongol invasions, and Jinshanling, home to nearly 70 uniquely built watchtowers. Add it to your Beijing itinerary for a day of challenging hiking, an overnight near the wall, and a second day along one of its best-preserved stretches.
