The Zen Garden Hotel Lion Hill is located on the very top part of the Old Town of Lijiang and offers an incredible panoramic view over the traditional Chinese roofs of the Old Town, covered with local tiles. The Old Town doesn't allow cars, so you can call the hotel in advance and they will send someone for the big luggage. The hotel also has an airport pick up service.
The hotel was designed as a traditional timber construction with natural stone walls and pavements. The rooms have a balcony with seats that face the green yard so you can enjoy the sunshine.
Inside the gate there are orchids, bonsai trees, a koi pond and places to sit in the sun. There is music from ancient Chinese Gujin instruments and fine Chinese design work.
In the lobby there is Chinese antique furniture, vases, paintings and wood carvings from the Ming and Qing Dynasty. You can also enjoy the famous and healthy PU-ER tea while you enjoy the Zen Garden where you can read a book from the library or practice your calligraphy skills. The owner will even teach you how to use the brushes.
The rooms are decorated to be modern and well equipped.
