Day 1: Poas Volcano, Doka Coffee Plantation and Sarchí
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch
Begin this Costa Rica tour with breakfast at a local café, followed by a trip to the Poas Volcano National Park. This national park is home to a variety of wildlife, including tapirs, coyotes, hummingbirds, and perhaps the wildest of them all, the Poas Volcano. One of four active volcanoes in Costa Rica, the Poas's steaming crater bubbles with life.
The afternoon continues with a tour of the Doka Coffee Plantation. Watch how coffee is picked, milled and ground, then sample the results! If you eyes are still a little heavy from an early morning, they are sure to perk up from the rich aroma and flavorful tastes of a hot cup of Costa Rican coffee. At this three-generation coffee plantation, discover first hand - or cup - what makes Costa Rican coffee so popular.
Finish your Costa Rica extension with a visit to the artisan town of Sarchí, known throughout Costa Rica for its beautiful and intricate arts and crafts and souvenirs. Sarchí is most known for the vibrant, beautifully painted oxcarts that have been made here for over a hundred years. Arrive back at the hotel around 5:00 pm - just in time to drop a postcard to friends and family back home!
This tour is approximately 11 hours.

Kate was great to work with in the planning stage. She was prompt, helpful, and efficient. Our tour guide, Edwin, was knowledgeable and passionate. We were very happy to have traveled with Adventure Life, it made the trip easy and a true pleasure. We could concentrate on enjoying the experience rather than the details of travel.

Jane Packer helped us through the cancellation of our trip due to American Queen Voyages bankruptcy and then finding another cruise with American Cruise Lines.
Jane is very prompt in response, answers any questions, and makes good suggestions thereby making the process much easier!

Adventure Life did an excellent job of planning, organizing and executing a great trip to Argentina. It was nice to have the trip with just the two of us which allowed for a more personable tour with excellent tour guides in all four locations visited. We learned lots of details of the beautiful sites in BA, Mendoza,Baliloche and Iguazu Falls. We want to do another trip with Adventure Life some day.

Kassandra rocks! She had our trip planned and helped us arrange our air travel within the day we contacted her. She has helped us with our trips to Chile Argentina and Costa Rica, and she always finds us wonderful activities and accommodations. We’re looking forward to seeing what she’s planning for us this time when we go to Easter island
