Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, release and research of sloths, the Puerto Viejo Sloth Sanctuary is the best way to see these famed creatures. A tour of the sanctuary includes an introduction to the habitat of the sloths as well as their unique characteristics. The tour also includes a history of the sloth from the prehistoric Giant Ground Sloth to the sloths that inhabit Costa Rica today. During the tour you will get a chance to meet and photograph some of the permanent residents that live at the sanctuary.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
