Day 1: Venice, Italy | Embark

Venice is the heart and soul of romance. Cast your eye on the rounded domes of San Marco, take a deep breath at the Bridge of Sighs, gaze on the golden lions and the Renaissance glories of the Doge's Palace, listen for the ghosts of Verdi, Puccini and Caruso at La Fenice Opera House, gape at the classic Palladian proportions of the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, or glide in a gondola down the Grand Canal. Know that love is always in the air in Venice.

Day 2: Cres, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Cres is joint largest of Croatia's 718 islands, of which only 47 are inhabited. It is excellent for hiking so be sure to bring good walking shoes. The highlight is the tiny deserted fort village of Lubenice, which is nominated to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It sits 380m high above the Adriatic sea. The views from the site make the effort to get there worth it.

Day 3: Dubrovnik, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
It was George Bernard Shaw who said, “Those who seek paradise on earth should come to Dubrovnik.” Indeed, Dubrovnik is a treasure by any measure made more precious by its miraculous restoration. Crowned by the Minceta Tower, the 10th-century city walls are the proud symbol of Dubrovnik's colorful history.

Day 4: Kotor, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
This stunning rock-walled chasm splitting the coastal mountains of Montenegro is the longest arm of the sea in southern Europe. Boka harbors one of the prettiest, unspoiled towns you'll ever see, the medieval city of Kotor. Founded by the Romans, fortified during the Byzantine era, then ruled by Venice for much of its history, Kotor has been naturally preserved by its isolation.

Day 5: Korcula, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Framed by dense green forests of allepo pine and twisted cypress, the red tile roofs of Korcula, whose most famous native son was Marco Polo, form an inviting picture. The pale wheat-colored stone Cathedral of St. Mark houses a treasure trove of Dalmatia.

Day 6: Zadar, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Zadar, a city on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, is known for the Roman and Venetian ruins of its peninsular Old Town. It's the oldest continuously inhabited city in Croatia. The 12th-century cathedral has three beautiful portals and a bell-tower to climb. Its unique attractions, including the sound-and-light spectacle of the Sea Organ and the Sun Salutation, are not to be missed.

Day 7: Piran, Slovenia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
At the tip of the Piran Peninsula sits Slovenia's hidden gem. Despite its modest size, Piran boasts some of the country's finest architecture, history, and cuisine. Resembling an open-air museum, the town's Venetian influence is evident throughout its narrow streets. Visit the 19th-century Tartini Square, named after famous violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini, and St. George's Church, dramatically situated on a hilltop.

Day 8: Venice, Italy | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
Disembark after breakfast and continue your independent trip back home.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
