Day 1: Munich | Regensburg | Embark

Welcome to Germany. Upon arriving in Munich, enjoy a seamless transfer from the airport directly to the comfortable surroundings of your Emerald Star-Ship docked in Regensburg to officially begin your river cruise. This evening, join fellow guests for a delightful welcoming dinner on board. As one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities, Regensburg offers two millennia of rich history to explore. Despite this ancient past, the modern-day destination maintains a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, featuring charming streets made lively by a high population of university students. Your ship remains docked in Regensburg overnight, providing the perfect opportunity to step ashore and experience the vibrant local nightlife.

To guarantee a perfectly smooth embarkation process, please arrange for an inbound flight arriving in Munich prior to 2:00 PM.

Set out on foot to discover the highlights of Regensburg. Wander the streets with your guide, as the romantic narrow alleys of the World Heritage-listed Old Town and 13th-century Town Hall invite you to live through the city’s history. The highlight of your tour will be the 12th-century Stone Bridge, a medieval structure crossing the Danube. Followed by a Bavarian sausage tasting experience at a local restaurant for a taste of the region’s flavors.

Day 3: Passau

Passau is a picturesque city that has been shaped by the surrounding rivers over the years, situated right on the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz. This memorable destination is dominated by large squares, magical promenades and romantic lanes. Cobblestone streets and graceful arcades welcome you in the beautiful city of Passau.

Return for lunch on board and an afternoon peacefully cruising along the Danube.

Day 4: Melk | Durnstein

Nestled within Austria’s famed Wachau Valley, Melk offers a fascinating glimpse into centuries of history. Tracing its origins to Roman times and early medieval rulers such as the Babenbergs, this vibrant town charms with its blend of stunning Baroque architecture, wonderful river views and rich cultural heritage.

Later, cruise through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wachau Valley before arriving in Dürnstein, one of the most enchanting villages in the Wachau wine region.

Day 5: Vienna

As the former residence of Mozart and Beethoven, a multitude of imperial palaces represent a rich history, and the museum district boasts contemporary buildings, housing the work of some of the world’s most prolific artists.
