Activity options vary depending on destination and operator. Activity level is determined by the range and intensity of activities you choose to participate in. Discuss with your Trip Planner which options are best for you.
In Nuremberg, choose from three excursion options. Take a guided tour through the city's medieval heart, featuring the Imperial Castle, historic town wall, and the iconic Market Square fountain. Alternatively, explore Nuremberg's WWII history with a guided visit to key sites, including the vast Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds and the Nuremberg Trials Memoriam, with access to Courtroom 600 if not in session. Indulge in Franconian specialties such as Nuremberger Bratwurst, Rotbier (red beer), and lebkuchen (gingerbread) for a taste of local flavors. Later, cruise along the impressive Main-Danube Canal en route to Regensburg.
Explore one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities, Regensburg, on a guided walking tour showcasing the city’s architectural highlights, including the Old Town Hall and the Porta Praetoria. Alternatively, sample some Bavarian specialties—beer, sausage, and pretzels, and for those who wish to be more active, join a bike tour to Walhalla, where you can see the neoclassical white marble temple inspired by the Parthenon in Athens.
Enjoy a walking tour along Passau’s cobblestone streets, admiring the Gothic and Italian Baroque architecture and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Alternatively, venture to Salzburg, Austria, on a full-day tour that includes a stop in Mondsee in the Austrian Lake District and the opportunity to see Mozart’s Birth House and Mirabell Gardens, prominently featured in the movie The Sound of Music. For guests looking for a more active morning, you can choose between a guided bike tour along the Inn River or a guided hike up to the Veste Oberhaus Fortress for panoramic views overlooking three rivers.
Explore Melk and the magnificent Melk Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe’s largest and most revered monasteries. Within these walls are frescoes painted by Johann Michael Rottmayr and Paul Troger and a famed collection of musical manuscripts. Alternatively, you can walk along Durnstein’s cobblestone streets to the Baroque Stiftskirche, with its famed church tower, or join a guided bike tour through the UNESCO-designated Wachau Valley. Later in the day, set sail through the vineyard-rich Wachau Valley.
The “City of Waltzes” offers a treasure trove of gems, and on your city tour, you can see many of them, including the majestic Opera House and the former Imperial Palace of the Habsburgs. Conclude your tour in Vienna’s historic city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the grand St. Stephen’s Cathedral afterward. Discover Vienna on a guided bike tour for a more active exploration of the area. During the afternoon, spend leisure time exploring this iconic city even more.
Today, you can visit both the Buda (hilly) and Pest (flat) sides of the Danube River. Start on the Buda side, following your guide through the city’s Castle District, where you can marvel at the fairytale turrets of Fisherman’s Bastion, gaze upon the breathtaking panorama below, and see Matthias Church, renowned for its striking tower and colorful mosaic roof. For a more active tour, hike to Budapest’s Castle Hill. In the afternoon, explore the treasures of Pest, admiring the colossal Hungarian Parliament Building, Heroes Square, and the moving “Shoes on the Danube Bank” memorial.

The trip was terrific with great planning on your part. Most of the adventures were not mainstream and somewhat off the beaten path which made it especially enjoyable!! We felt taken care of and you all were readily available to respond to questions and issues. I would highly recommend your company and friends have already expressed interest based on our pictures and excitement.
Cruse ship was great. Fantastic food and service. Cruise itinary got changed so not what we expected, but not an major issue. Japan portion was great. Drivers/guides arranged by 80 Days were great. Hotels were mostly ok. Did not know that most hotels outside of major cities do not allow shoes to be worn in the hotel. again a minor inconvenience. Overall a great trip. Adventure Life communications were timely and much appreciated as far as changes/requests.

We were a group of three that initiated our research by independently searching for the best agency to help us in the somewhat complex experience of traveling to the Galapagos. We chose adventure life because they were the most responsive in the website provided the most comprehensive overview of the trip. Their reviews were also very good.
Adventure, life splits up its booking process in two parts. First Jeff, the booking agent helped us decide which experience best suited are interests. We chose a small 14 to 16 group sized yacht. Once the booking was made with Jeff, we were handed off to Coleene, who oversaw the complex process of assembling all of the necessary documents and making sure we had everything we needed to make the trip go smoothly. The adventure, life website, then becomes your personal place of reference for all things related to your trip from door to door. It’s a lot of information to assemble, especially for three travelers, but the website makes it easy and Colleen‘s gentle reminders kept us on track. In all, from the beginning, we had four months from the time we started our research till the time we departed. We felt that was, a good amount of preparation time and don’t think it would be wise to do it in less than four months. Mostly because I think you have more options with that amount of time. There were others on our trip that took six months and more from the time they started planning.
The trip itself was outstanding. We ended up on an excellent yacht (Galapagos Angel II) with a great group of guests that we were able to connect with and put together a really nice google photos album to share.
