Cruise through Scoresbysund, Kong Oscar Fjord, Kejser Franz Josephs Fjord, and Northeast Greenland National Park, exploring some of the Arctic's most remote landscapes. Travel by Zodiac for guided landings, hike across tundra, visit Thule archaeological sites and historic trapper cabins, and observe icebergs, mountains, and Arctic wildlife. Visit Ittoqqortoormiit, one of Greenland's most isolated settlements, before returning to Constable Point for the charter flight back to Iceland. The expedition ship accesses remote fjords and landing sites beyond the reach of larger vessels, making this journey ideal for experiencing Greenland's vast wilderness, rich history, and spectacular Arctic scenery.

Day 1: Arrive at Keflavik Airport or Reykjavik Airport | Fly to Constable Point | Embark

Meet the Secret Atlas representative and fellow guests at the designated meeting point in Keflavik or Reykjavik Airport, Iceland. After passing through security, board the private charter flight to Nerlerit Inaat Airport (Constable Point), Greenland. From the airport, take a short hike to the shore and board Zodiac boats for transfer to the expedition ship.

Day 2-3: Scoresbysund | Sydkap

Explore Scoresbysund by cruising through the steep-sided Ofjord and landing on the Bear Islands for panoramic views of the fjord system. Visit Sydkap to see Thule cultural remains and a hunters’ cabin, offering a striking vantage point over the surrounding icebergs.

Day 4-5: Kong Oscar Fjord | Northeast Greenland National Park

Sail into Kong Oscar Fjord, entering Northeast Greenland National Park. Land at Antarctic Havn, hearing the stories of Erik the Red and the Norwegian governor who had his residence here in the 1930s, and hiking to an atmospheric cabin, half-submerged by an avalanche. Stop at Holm Bugt, with its sandy beach, trapper cabin, and Thule remains – you might even spot some lemmings! Segelsallskapet Fjord is a hugely geologically rich area, with alternating layers of dolomite and limestone jutting attractively out of the earth.

Day 6: Kejser Franz Josephs Fjord | Blomsterbugt

Continue the adventure in the wondrous Kejser Franz Josephs Fjord, taking in the island of Ymer Ø and the extraordinarily dramatic Teufelsschloss (Devil’s Castle) peak. Blomsterbugt (Flowers Bay in Danish) is an attractive spot to absorb the colors of the surrounding plainland, spot divers, and meet the local population of Arctic hares. But there’s a darker side to this bay the Norwegians called Vargbukta (or Wolf Bay). At the end of Kejser Franz Josephs Fjord, land on Kapp Ovibos, a sandy bay known for its wildflowers.

Day 7-8: Scoresbysund | Storefjord

Head back to Scoresbysund via Storefjord, an abandoned Norwegian hunting, meteorological, and radio station, and Raffles Ø, a small uninhabited island.

Day 9: Ittoqqortoormiit

Sail to Ittoqqortoormiit, one of the remotest towns on the planet, with an idiosyncratic culture and way of life.

Day 10: Constable Point | Disembark | charter flight to Iceland

On the final day, you disembark at Constable point and take a charter flight back to Iceland, where you enjoy a relaxing evening and overnight stay at your comfortable hotel—a chance to unwind and reflect on your unforgettable journey through Greenland. Transfer between the airport and the hotel is included.

Meals: Lunch and meals while onboard. Once back in Iceland, you are invited to join a group farewell dinner, depending on your arrival time.

Day 11: Departure | Return Home

  • 1 Breakfast
After breakfast at the hotel, continue your onward journey home, reflecting on your unforgettable expedition through Greenland.
