Posada de Santiago is nestled between the volcanoes that cradle the indigenous Tzutujil village of Santiago Atitlan, the Posada provides the perfect base from which to experience Guatemala's natural beauty and colorful cultures. With charming stone cottage lodgings, renowned cuisine and luxurious lakefront amenities, the Posada is a place where happy guests leave wanting not only to remember, but to return on one of our Guatemala tours.

Rooms
Although the Posada is best known for its stone bungalow cottages, a number of rooms are also available to the budget traveler. Casa Orquidea, a new two-story building, has a number of charming doubles with private bath on the ground floor, just by the yoga studio/conference room/theater on the second floor.

The Cottages
Luna, Angel, Sol, Quetzal, Palma, and Maya: six individual cottages artfully etched of Volcanic stone. The cottages are strewn in tropical gardens, only a short walk to the restaurant, pool, and beachfront. All come with a queen-sized bed and a single bed, private bathroom with hot water, fireplace, and hammock.

Junior Suites
La Casita Is a charming house with a cozy kitchen, spacious dining room, colorfully tiled bathroom and two bedrooms, each bearing queen-sized beds.

Suites
Casa Aguacatal (House of the Avocado Orchard) is a beautiful loft suite with a king-sized bed on the ground floor and a queen-sized bed in an open loft above. A full bath with steaming showers, and a living space with a stone hearth and coffee maker come together to create a home away from home. A stone table by the patio is perfect for morning coffee, and the massage room is a short walk away.

Groups
The expansive facilities and years of experience have made the Posada a favorite stop of many group travel organizations on our Guatemala tours. They has been host to a wide variety of groups: film crews, students, church missions, medical volunteers, NGO's, art and yoga workshops and, of course, a few weddings.

The hotel offer a full package for groups of twelve or more with three meals included each day. The plan can be completely tailored to your needs and tastes: the basic plan is geared toward working groups who are watching their budget and don't want to spend a lot of time at meals. A new two-story building ideal for groups. Upstairs, it has a 1200 sq ft Salon and there are four moderately priced double rooms with baths downstairs. Casa Orquidea is available for meetings, workshops, banquets and celebrations. Coffee breaks, catering, and audio/visual equipment can be provided. They maintain a list of contact information for the finest musicians, artisans and knowledgeable speakers in the Atitlan area.

Dining
The restaurant maintains the highest standards: they make all of their own stocks, sauces, breads, pastries and ice cream; chicken, and turkey are wood-smoked on-premise. They grow, process, roast, and grind our own coffee, which is served freshly brewed, as espresso, cappuccino and lattes. A full bar and selection of fine wines are ready to complement any meal.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
