  • 1 Lunch
Today you will be picked up at your hotel to transfer to the town of Tecpan, the site of the first Spanish Colonial Capital. Once at Tecpan your guide will show you around this lively, authentic market where Maya people from the surrounding area congregate to buy and sell products for the week ahead. You will see the traditional textiles worn by the local people as well as exotic produce from the surrounding area. Enjoy a traditional lunch in a nearby restaurant before transferring back to the Maya ruins of Iximche for a guided tour of this small but significant site which has a fascinating Maya Altar. This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
