Day 1: Arrive in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Welcome to Indonesia! Upon arrival at Yogyakarta International Airport, your guide will be waiting in the arrivals area, holding a sign with your name, and transfer to your hotel in Yogyakarta, the first destination on your family adventure.

Day 2: Yogyakarta | Evening Foodie Tour

This morning, enjoy some time to relax after your long travels or explore Yogyakarta at your own pace.

In the evening, dive into Yogyakarta’s vibrant food scene. Start near the Tugu Monument, where you will walk or ride a becak (pedicab) to try kopi joss, a coffee with a sizzling charcoal twist. Ride into the lively Jalan Malioboro, where you might taste the famous mi Kadin (stir-fried noodles) at the northern Alun-Alun (square). At the southern Alun-Alun, test your luck with the blindfolded walk between two banyan trees. In Wijilan, savor Yogya’s signature gudeg (jackfruit curry). Finally, end the night at a buzzing angkringan restaurant, sampling fresh local dishes with drinks like wedang uwuh (herbal tea) or wedang jahe (ginger tea). This tour promises a flavorful immersion into the culinary treasures of Yogyakarta, enjoyed by foodies and families alike.
 

Day 3: Journey to Magelang | Candirejo | Explore Borobudur

After breakfast, grab your luggage and head to Magelang. Upon arrival, explore Candirejo, a traditional Javanese village near Borobudur. Supported by a local NGO, this sustainable tourism project offers an authentic glimpse into village life. It’s an ideal experience for families seeking cultural immersion and a deeper connection with nature.

Set off on a leisurely 3 km cycling journey through the serene countryside of Candirejo. Ride along narrow paths past lush fields where locals tend their crops. Stop along the way to engage with the community and learn about traditional activities like chili harvesting, produce drying, and the art of making cassava crackers and bamboo crafts. It's an enriching experience for the whole family.

Continue your adventure with a visit to a local home for a lively gamelan music performance. Enjoy the rhythmic sounds of traditional Javanese percussion instruments, and try your hand at playing alongside the village ensemble — a fun experience for all ages! Wrap up the day with a delicious Javanese meal at a community-funded pendopo pumah pavilion, where your family can relax and savor authentic local flavors.

After lunch, set off with your family to explore Borobudur Temple, the world’s largest Buddhist monument. Perched on a hill, it offers stunning views of lush fields and distant mountains. Built over a thousand years ago, Borobudur predates Angkor Wat and Notre Dame. Its intricate stone reliefs narrate ancient Buddhist teachings and stories of life in Java. After an inspiring day of discovery, return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 4: Back to Yogyakarta | Free Afternoon

On this day, transfer back to Yogyakarta and explore its oldest neighborhood, where traditional architecture lines the charming streets. You can take the afternoon to explore independently at your own pace or let us arrange an afternoon tour for you.

Add an afternoon guided tour of Kotagede, Yogyakarta's oldest neighborhood. Stroll or bike through the area and try your hand at creating your batik masterpiece, a perfect keepsake from your journey. Enjoy a homemade lunch with a local family, savoring authentic Indonesian cuisine. later, experience the rhythms of gamelan music as skilled musicians guide you through the basics of this traditional Indonesian ensemble. It's a hands-on, cultural experience the whole family will enjoy.

Day 5: Free Day in Yogyakarta

Enjoy a free day in Yogyakarta. Spend your day independently, unwind at the hotel, explore the city’s lively streets, discover local markets, or take a relaxing break at a charming cafés. 

We Suggest:
If you are feeling adventurous, add an optional tour by starting your day with a scenic becak (pedicab) ride through Yogyakarta, soaking in the city’s charm. Arrive at Kilometer Zero, the city’s historic center, for a brief sightseeing stop. Then, explore Fort Vredenburg, once a Dutch colonial stronghold, now a museum showcasing the region’s rich history. Next, dive into the lively atmosphere of a local market, discovering traditional products and local crafts. Continue to the Tugu Monument, an iconic symbol of Yogyakarta’s cultural identity. Wrap up your experience with a flavorful local lunch before returning to your hotel.

Day 6: Fly to Bali | Ubud

After breakfast, check out and meet your guide in the hotel lobby. Today, travel to the airport for your flight to Bali for the next exciting chapter of your adventure.

Once you arrive in Bali, meet your guide at the airport and transfer about two hours to your hotel in Ubud. Spend the rest of the day independently or if flight timing allows, opt to arrange an afternoon cooking class to learn about and enjoy traditional and authentic Balinese dishes. Your instructor will assist while you get hands on and craft your own meals, after which you will have the opportunity to sit and enjoy your handmade dinner before being transferred back to your hotel to rest after a busy day.

Day 7: Ubud | Bakas Agriculture Village Tour

After breakfast, meet with your guide and set out on an exciting journey to Bakas Village, where fun and learning await! Your adventure starts at a charming village warung (local gathering place), where you will be warmly welcomed. Enjoy a delicious coffee or tea paired with a tasty local cake while soaking in the delightful village atmosphere. During this introduction, your guide will share fascinating stories about local farming, revealing the traditional irrigation systems and the variety of crops that flourish in the area.

As you wander through the beautiful landscapes, interact with local farmers and learn about their age-old practices. After this enriching experience, savor a leisurely lunch before heading to a local family compound, where it is time to make a kite together. Once your kites are ready, enjoy flying them against the stunning backdrop of the village’s rice fields. After a day filled with laughter and learning, return to the hotel.

Day 8: Ubud Bamboo Factory & House Experience

After breakfast, visit a bamboo factory and learn about the fascinating world of bamboo craftsmanship with a unique experience that takes you through transforming bamboo into stunning architectural masterpieces. Here, witness the meticulous steps in bamboo construction, from harvesting and treatment to innovative techniques for creating durable and sustainable structures. Gain a deeper appreciation for this eco-friendly material as skilled artisans showcase their expertise in crafting furniture and building components.

After the factory tour, a short drive to the enchanting Green Village, a community renowned for its breathtaking bamboo homes designed in harmony with nature. Take a guided tour of bamboo houses, explore these unique homes, and discover the sustainable building practices that went into their creation. Marvel at the artistry and engineering that go into creating these elegant, nature-integrated homes, which blend modern comfort with environmentally conscious design.

After an inspiring exploration, unwind with snacks and refreshments, taking in the serene surroundings before concluding your experience. This immersive tour offers a unique insight into the future of sustainable living, leaving you with a newfound admiration for bamboo as a powerful, renewable resource.

Day 9: Exploring Jimbaran

This morning, depart from Ubud to Jimbaran with stops at Jatiluwih Rice Fields and Tanah Lot Temple. In the evening, gather for the Devdan Show, a dynamic performance celebrating Indonesia’s culture.

First, visit Jatiluwih Village in the Penebel District, home to breathtaking rice terraces framed by Mount Batukaru and Mount Agung. At 700 meters (2297 feet) above sea level, this UNESCO-recognized landscape showcases subak, a traditional Balinese irrigation system dating back to the 9th century. Often compared to Tegallalang, Jatiluwih offers a stunning glimpse into Bali’s rich agricultural heritage.

Next, visit Tanah Lot, an impressive rock formation off Bali’s west coast. It is home to the sacred Pura Tanah Lot temple, a must-see landmark that offers stunning ocean views and an ideal backdrop for family photos. Renowned for its dramatic seaside setting, the temple looks breathtaking at sunset.

In the evening, the adventure continues with the enchanting Devdan show, a captivating journey through Indonesia's rich culture. This thrilling performance blends modern acrobatics and dance, drawing inspiration from the diverse traditions of the archipelago. Enjoy colorful costumes and dynamic storytelling, showcasing Indonesia's unique heritage through breathtaking moves and lively dance. The show lasts about 60 minutes, making it a perfect highlight to cap off your day!

Please note that the Devdan show is available on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings. 

Day 10: Surfing in Jimbaran

After breakfast, prepare for a private surfing lesson suitable for all ages! A surf school representative will pick you up for a shared transfer to the beach. In a safe and fun setting, learn how to handle a surfboard, read the waves, paddle, catch waves, and stand up. Before diving in, receive a full ocean safety briefing to prepare you for the day. (Please note that timing and surfing spots will be confirmed one day in advance.)
Please be aware that surfing is subject to weather conditions.

In the evening, you will be picked up for a unique dinner experience at Le Petit Chef in Seminyak. Starting at 6:00 PM, enjoy a one-of-a-kind dining adventure where 3D projection mapping brings a tiny chef’s culinary story to life. Watch as themed music, props, and a specially curated menu immerse you in the magic. Your plate and cutlery will come alive with projections, adding a fun and interactive twist to your meal. After this unforgettable experience, head back to your hotel.

Day 11: Free day in Jimbaran

Spend your last day in Jimbaran exploring at your own pace. Discover the area’s hidden gems, relax on the beach, or savor the local cuisine—whatever you choose, make the most of your time here.
 

Day 12: Return Home

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then spend the morning at your leisure until check-out or based on your departure flight. If you need the room beyond the standard checkout time, it may be available for an additional cost, subject to availability.
