A warm welcome to Malawi! Upon arrival at Chileka International Airport, your guide will welcome you. After collecting your luggage, they will transfer you directly to Majete Wildlife Reserve, one of Malawi's big five parks. You will spend the first three nights of your tour here.

Set on the edge of the beautiful Majete Wildlife Reserve in the lower Shire Valley, you will stay in Thawale Camp, a rustic haven that offers guests the opportunity to experience the Big 5. Enjoy the views over the watering hole from the comfort of your private veranda.

Experience night drives, game drives, bush walks, bird walks, boat trips, and hill hikes. There is so much to do and enjoy in this picturesque reserve.

Day 4-6: Liwonde National Park

Your tour continues to get better and more exciting. You will now travel to Liwonde National Park, one of Malawi's success stories in wildlife conservation. Your driver or guide will transfer you to Mvuu Lodge, situated along the mighty Shire River within the Park. You will stay here for the next three days.

Enjoy your stay at Mvuu Lodge, nestled discreetly on the banks of a lagoon just off the Shire River on the western boundary of the wildlife-rich Liwonde National Park. The main lounge building is set high above the water for long views upriver and a private viewing platform overlooking the lagoon.

Along with a sizable population of hippos, the river is home to numerous elephants, reedbuck, waterbuck, and sable. In "The Sanctuary," a fenced 4,000ha area in Liwonde, buffalo, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, zebra, roan, eland, and a rare black rhino have been introduced. Over 400 of the 650 bird species are found in the Park, which has a thriving bird population.

Day 7-9: Salima | Lake Malawi National Park

It's now time to cool off! Travel to Senga Bay in Salima, where you will catch your boat transfer to Blue Zebra Island Lodge. During your stay, you are in a perfect location to take advantage of delectable meals and breathtaking water sports. You will spend three nights here.

Spend your days at this discrete and eco-friendly lodge on Nankoma Island, named after the vibrant cichlid fish. This island is a true wild paradise, home to some of Malawi's most unusual flora and fauna.

What better way to spend an afternoon than splashing about in the swimming pool or chilling out on deck chairs with a refreshing cocktail? Named after a frequent visitor to the island, the African bee-eater, the open-air restaurant looks over Baobab Garden, the pool area, and Lake Malawi. Dining at Blue Zebra Island Lodge is a leisurely and tasteful experience.

From adventurous activities to total relaxation, Blue Zebra has a range of experiences for you to enjoy. Unwind at the infinity pool with stunning views over Lake Malawi, explore the island by kayak or nature trail, go birdwatching, discover the underwater world with snorkeling and seasonal scuba diving, sip an MGT (Malawi gin & tonic) on a sunset cruise, and more!

In Lilongwe, you will catch your flight to Nampula International Airport and meet and greet with guided road transfers to Ilha de Mozambique.

You will spend the next two nights of your tour at the Villa Sands Hotel, a beautiful boutique hotel located on the western beach of Mozambique Island, strategically located just on the edge of the Indian Ocean.

Enjoy freshly caught fish, prawns, and lobsters prepared in a variety of ways, or just relax with a drink at the oceanfront sunset terrace bar.

Enjoy the freedom of the ocean by taking trips with the hotel's boat. Visit nearby islands with white coral beaches or swim in the crystal-clear waters of the mangroves. Backed by the wild Mozambican bush, fringed with old and established baobab trees to the back, and fronted by the calm and aquamarine bay of Nanatha, the lodge is peppered along a more than 2km-long, powdery-white beach in the middle.

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.
