Discover the unique charm of "The Nellie," a yurt named after the legendary pioneer Alaska Nellie, located on Grant Lake in Moose Pass, Alaska. This cozy hideaway offers accommodations for up to 5 people with bunks featuring one double bed and three twin beds. Enjoy the handmade spruce table, board games, and cards for old-fashioned fun.

At camp, find river expedition-style mattresses, a covered camp kitchen, a Coleman 2-burner stove, cooking utensils, a woodstove with cut wood, and a bear box. Explore Grant Lake with the available tandem kayaks, life jackets, and paddles.

Moose Pass is 1.5 hours south of Anchorage and 30 miles from Seward and Kenai Fjords National Park. Access to the yurt requires boating to the trailhead, followed by a 1-mile kayak and a 1-mile hike. Boat transportation across Trail Lake is not included, and walking across the railroad bridge is prohibited. Enjoy a unique and inspiring stay in this historic and picturesque location.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
