Day 1: Puerto Natales, Patagonia

Arrive in Patagonia ahead of your anticipated Antarctic charter flight. The schedule thoughtfully includes a built-in buffer of up to three additional complimentary nights at Weskar Lodge on a bed-and-breakfast basis, held safely in reserve just in case weather delays the journey south. Should the flight depart exactly on schedule, this extra time in Patagonia is entirely yours to spend as desired. Consider exploring the nearby Torres del Paine National Park, a celebrated UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve featuring striking glaciers, towering granite peaks, brilliant turquoise lakes, and untamed wildlife, with specific activities and excursions available to book separately. Furthermore, take the opportunity to discover Puerto Natales itself. As a frontier town boasting genuine character, exceptional local seafood, and a remarkably relaxed pace, it serves as the perfect starting point to rest and prepare before venturing to the edge of the world.

Day 2: Puerto Natales | Fly to King George Island | Embark

Board the charter flight to King George Island, provided weather conditions permit a safe journey. Should the flight window shift, remain comfortably at Weskar Lodge until the skies clear for departure. Upon arrival, seamlessly transfer to the ship to begin the exciting sea voyage. Attend the mandatory safety briefings before celebrating with a welcome cocktail and a delicious dinner. Settle in as the vessel gracefully sails toward the Antarctic Peninsula, offering four full days of spectacular exploration ahead, with the legendary Drake Passage waiting for the journey home.

Aircraft: BAE 146-200 / RJ-85 / RJ-100. Luggage allowance: 25kg checked, 5kg carry-on within standard size limitations.

Day 3-6: Antarctic Peninsula

Four full days on the Peninsula. Where you go is shaped by conditions and opportunity:

You often sail into the heart of the Antarctic Peninsula through the scenic Gerlache Strait, flanked by jagged peaks. With the aim to explore Wilhelmina Bay, Cuverville Island, Paradise Bay, Lemaire Channel, Deception Island, and the sites between them.

Leopard seals on ice floes. Gentoo and Chinstrap penguin colonies. Humpback whales surfacing in the channels. Glaciers calving into water that carries no traffic. And the moment that defines your voyage: landing on the continent and setting foot on Antarctica.

Possible locations: Cierva Cove, Trinity Island, Mikkelsen Harbor, Hydrurga Rocks, Hughes Bay, Wilhelmina Bay, Cuverville Island, Errera Channel, Neko Harbor, Paradise Bay, Almirante Brown Station, Dallman Bay, Melchior Islands, Neumayer Channel, Port Lockroy, Lemaire Channel, Half Moon Island, Yankee Harbor, Whalers Bay, Baily Head, Deception Island.

Day 7-8: Drake Passage

The Drake is where the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans meet with nothing to slow them. Aureum's fin stabilizers hold the crossing steady; the program on board holds your attention: polar science lectures, photography workshops, personal accounts from the expedition team.

Weather permitting, time on deck to watch wandering albatrosses trace the swell. The birds are large enough to be genuinely surprising at close range, and the guides know their species on sight.

Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel appear on the horizon toward the end of the crossing.

Day 9: Ushuaia, Argentina | Disembark

Following breakfast, and once the vessel has been cleared by the local authorities, disembarkation typically begins from 09:00.

A complimentary transfer will take you to Arakur Ushuaia Resort & Spa, where a final overnight stay is included as part of your expedition. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and enjoy the hotel's exceptional facilities, including the fitness center, indoor swimming pool, indoor and outdoor relaxation pools, outdoor hot tubs, and pool bar. Alternatively, immerse yourself in Patagonia by exploring the scenic walking trails of the Cerro Alarkén Nature Reserve.

Day 10: Ushuaia, Argentina

  • 1 Breakfast
After breakfast, a complimentary transfer to Ushuaia Airport is provided according to your flight schedule.

Your expedition comes to an end in Ushuaia, the world's southernmost city, concluding an extraordinary journey through South Georgia, Antarctica and the Southern Ocean.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
