Challenge yourself on this 10-day Cordillera Real & Sorata Circuit trekking tour from La Paz, beginning in the mountain village of Sorata. Hike beneath the towering massifs of Illampu and Ancohuma, crossing high-altitude lakes and spectacular trails that reveal glacier-tipped ridgelines. Trek above 4,500 meters, where the thin air sharpens every view, and each step feels earned. Steep switchbacks and rocky cols test your resolve. Days are filled with raw Andean scenery: turquoise lagoons, wind-scarred plateaus, and valleys carved by ancient ice. Visit local Aymara communities along the route, learn about mountain traditions, and experience how centuries of Andean life have shaped the landscape. Camp under star-filled skies and wake to crisp mountain air in one of Bolivia’s most breathtaking regions.

Continue uphill for another four hours to reach the small hamlet of Lacatiya (3,900 meters / 12,795.28 feet), where camp is set for the night.

Good to ideal period to travel, and many people choose to visit at this time.
Chance for unpredictable weather but with fewer visitors.
Typically not offered during this period because of weather conditions.
The trip was terrific with great planning on your part. Most of the adventures were not mainstream and somewhat off the beaten path which made it especially enjoyable!! We felt taken care of and you all were readily available to respond to questions and issues. I would highly recommend your company and friends have already expressed interest based on our pictures and excitement.
