Copacabana and Sun Island

Transfer from La Paz by private vehicle to Copacabana (3-hour drive) and visit this picturesque town situated between two mountains and on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Explore the Inca sites outside of the city, as well as the cathedral, which features the dark Virgin of Candelaria statue and a museum of European and local religious art.

Board a boat for a 1-hour ride to Sun Island. The Sun Island is worshipped as the birthplace of Manco Kápac and Mama Ocllo, the first founders of the Inca empire. With your guide, tour the Pilkokaina Palace, the Inca’s Fountain, and the 200 stairs of Yumani. The views from Sun Island are spectacular.

This afternoon return to Copacabana and continue to La Paz. The full-day tour is approximately 10 hours with private guide service.
