A few meters from the historic ruins of the town of San Pedro de Quemado Quemes and near cultural and natural attractions you can not miss, stands the Hotel Tayka de Piedra. The hotel building is built utilizing the Tayka sand stone and volcanic materials which are characteristic of the area. The use of stone was inspired by the Pueblo Quemado beside the hotel and it was characterized by the exclusive management of artistic stone. The majority of the hotel roof is covered with the traditional straw cover typically used throughout the Andean region.

The hotel uses mainly solar energy, with an integrated heating system in the rooms based on circulating hot water radiators which emit plentiful heat. The two interior courtyards offer visitors the perfect place to relax and enjoy a pleasant day temperatures. The cozy restaurant offers the chance to taste delicious local and international cuisine and enjoy a beautiful view of the plateau.

The Tayka de Piedra Hotel is located in the town of San Pedro de Quemes south of the Salar de Uyuni, surrounded by a landscape of majestic mountains just 84.5 Kms Incahuasi Island and 170 kilometers from the Chilean city of Calama. A large number of natural and cultural sites are available in the vicinity of the hotel: active volcanoes, amazing rock formations and pre-Columbian sites. The warmth of the staff and the comfort of the facilities are created especially for you, waiting for your visit.

Guest Accommodations
The cozy rooms at Hotel Tayka de Piedra provide the ideal environment for relaxation, all housed in a comfortable climate thanks to the solar energy used throughout the hotel. This system provides ample heat during the night and on cold days by creating comprehensive heating of the rooms based on circulating hot water radiators. For those who wish more warmth, mobile gas stoves are available upon request.

Go trekking from the Hotel de Piedra to Pueblo Quemado (old town San Pedro) and to the modern town to visit the church and the main square, or visit to archaeological and cultural sites in the region, such as Pukara of Tojota, Jawincha, Galaxies and Cave Cueva del Diablo.
