Day 1: Safaga, Egypt | Embark

Safaga and Soma Bay, situated near Hurghada on Egypt’s Red Sea coast, are celebrated for their clear waters and unspoiled beaches. Both destinations are premier sites for diving and snorkeling, showcasing colorful coral reefs and diverse marine ecosystems. Safaga is additionally recognized for its therapeutic qualities, including mineral-rich black sand and natural hot springs. Soma Bay stands out for its upscale resorts, professional-grade golf courses, and wide range of water-based activities.

Day 2: At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges, and a peaceful library.

Day 3: Suez Canal

Going through the Suez Canal is an incredible journey that connects the Mediterranean Sea with the Red Sea, creating a direct route between Europe and Asia. The canal is one of the world’s most significant and busiest maritime passages, cutting down travel time by avoiding the lengthy trip around Africa’s Cape of Good Hope.

Day 4: Suez Canal Transit | Port Said, Egypt

As ships move through the canal, they pass between vast stretches of desert, flanked by sandy banks and occasional palm trees, with a unique, almost surreal landscape. For many mariners, it's both a breathtaking experience and a reminder of how this engineering marvel transformed global trade.

From Port Said at the entrance to the Suez Canal, an optional tour takes you to Egypt's capital of Cairo and the ancient monuments of Giza and the Pyramids. More than 18 million people are jammed into the teeming city split by the River Nile. At the desert's edge in Giza, the Great Pyramids of Cheops and the staring face of the Sphinx offer up a whole new perspective on eternity.

Day 5: Port Said, Egypt

From Port Said at the entrance to the Suez Canal, an optional tour takes you to Egypt's capital of Cairo and the ancient monuments of Giza and the Pyramids. More than 18 million people are jammed into the teeming city split by the River Nile. At the desert's edge in Giza, the Great Pyramids of Cheops and the staring face of the Sphinx offer up a whole new perspective on eternity.

Day 6: Alexandria, Egypt

The second largest city in Egypt, Alexandria, known as The Pearl of the Mediterranean, has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern. Its ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country although it is actually only 225 km. from Cairo. Founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, Alexandria became the capital of Graeco-Roman Egypt.

Day 7: At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges, and a peaceful library.

Day 8: Rhodes, Greece

Rhodes, the jewel of the Aegean Sea, is famous for its medieval old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, idyllic beaches and sunny climate. Explore its cobbled streets, admire the Palace of the Grand Masters, relax on golden beaches and savor exquisite Mediterranean cuisine. For a change of scenery, head to Lindos, where the Acropolis dominates the emerald sea, contrasted by the white facades of the town's buildings. Rhodes is the perfect destination for lovers of history, culture and seaside relaxation.

Day 9: Santorini, Greece

Perched on the cliffs of the caldera, this volcanic island offers breathtaking panoramic views, whitewashed houses with blue roofs and picturesque cobbled streets. Explore the charming villages of Oia and Fira, relax on unique black or red sand beaches, and enjoy exquisite local cuisine accompanied by renowned wines. A truly photogenic island with a reputation to match.

Day 10: Milos, Adamas, Greece

Weather permitting, board the tender to approach the magnificent cliffs of Kleftiko, also known as the Meteors of the Sea. Only accessible by sea, these immaculate white rocks plunge into incredible turquoise waters for a breathtaking contrast!

Day 11: Hydra, Greece

Hydra is a town of stately mansions all built around 1800 by blockade runners who had made fortunes outwitting the British during the Napoleonic Wars. As there are no cars, for the spectacular view from the Monastery of Ilias you have to ride a donkey to the top.

Day 12: Piraeus (Port of Athens), Greece | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
Walking in the shadow of the Acropolis in the Agora, you can almost hear the voices of Plato, Socrates and Aristotle arguing about who was the greatest philosopher. Ancient Athens, the birthplace of democracy and epicenter of western civilization, is a city for all eternity. Piraeus is the port of Athens, just 15 km from the city and 45 km from the airport.

Disembark after breakfast and continue your independent trip back home.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).
