After a long journey, Dad and I finally arrived in Athens, excited to kick off our Greece adventure. We were supposed to be picked up by a driver arranged through our travel partner, Variety, but there was a mix-up with the timing. No big deal—we quickly flagged down a taxi and made our way to the hotel. Not a bad experience at all! Taxis here are easy to find and reasonably priced, making it super convenient to get around.
While we waited for our room to be ready, we hit the streets to explore the local restaurant scene. We shared a fresh caprese salad and a slice of cake while soaking in the lively atmosphere. The streets were buzzing with energy, full of people going about their day. We loved watching the hustle and bustle—it was the perfect way to get a first taste of the city.
Eventually, jet lag caught up with us, and once we got into our room, we crashed hard. Slept for hours. A relaxed start to what’s sure to be an unforgettable trip!
