This morning, you depart from your hotel and transfer to the airport in Guatemala City for your flight to Flores. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and begin a private tour of Tikal, one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in Central America.
As you walk beneath the dense jungle canopy, the ancient pyramids rise through the trees, revealing a city that once flourished as a major religious, scientific, and political center for more than 1,500 years. Your guide shares fascinating stories of Mayan civilization while the calls of howler monkeys echo through the forest. The surrounding wilderness is alive with spider monkeys, coatimundis, toucans, scarlet macaws, and even the rare and secretive jaguar.
After lunch, return to your hotel and relax after a day surrounded by Guatemala’s ancient history.
Note: The hike through Tikal is of moderate difficulty and shaded by the jungle. Bring a hat, light clothing, insect repellent, sunblock, cash, bottled water, and snacks. A waterproof jacket is recommended during the rainy season.
Spend a relaxed morning surrounded by the natural beauty of Tikal. You may choose to unwind at your hotel or explore the nearby ruins at your own pace. Later, transfer to Flores Airport for your flight back to Guatemala City.
Upon arrival, settle into your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure to explore the city or simply rest after your journey.
