Falkland Islands Politics, Culture and Cuisine
Though the Falklands' history has been influenced by the French, Spanish, Argentineans, and British, it is British culture that prevails in the islands today. Seventy percent of the ~3,000 inhabitants have British and Scottish roots, though a scattering of Scandinavian names is a legacy of the whalers and sealers who resided in the islands in the 19th century.
