Tour scientific research stations and historic huts
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Arrive in Punta Arenas and transfer to your downtown hotel to check in. The rest of the day is at your leisure before an evening group briefing about tomorrow's flight.
Day 2: Fly from Punta Arenas to King George Island | Embark
Today, transfer to Punta Arenas airport for your charter flight to King George Island. Please remember that you are flying to very remote areas and flight schedules are dependent on weather, both in Punta Arenas & King George Island.
The Antarctic Peninsula's western flanks offer long days and relatively ice-free waters. Visit historic huts and Zodiac cruise through narrow straits and majestic icebergs, and if you're lucky, whale watch from the bow of the ship. A few landing points you will visit include Half Moon Bay, Lemaire Channel, Hydrurga Rocks and more. Expeditions will also venture into Weddell Sea if weather and ice conditions permit. You will visit the large Adelie and gentoo penguin colonies of Brown Bluff or Paulet Island, and fossil-rich Seymour Island. You may hike to spectacular vantage points on Beak or Devil Islands; large tabular icebergs and volcanic scenery create long lasting memories. Wherever you go, wildlife, Heroic Age relics and haunting landscapes await.
Relax and reminisce as you cross the Drake Passage, bound for South America. Your expedition team will recap all the incredible things you've witnessed, or perhaps you'll find a quiet moment place to review the hundreds of photos taken.
Day 11: Ushuaia | Disembark

You slip up the Beagle Channel and pull into Ushuaia, where you'll say goodbye to new friends and begin any onward travel.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
