Moderately active but not overly strenuous. This level includes activities like casual cycling, yoga, or excursions/activities that typically last 3-5 hours total each day.
Your adventure starts with an airport pickup and a brief stop at the office for check-in. Afterwards, hop on a 2.5-hour trip to Utan Rainforest Lodge.
Upon arrival, get a facility briefing, have lunch, and check-in.
Take an introductory walk around the lodge to explore Sungai Kapur’s Virgin Jungle Reserve and its flora and fauna. Later, go on a sunset river cruise for wildlife sightings and an estuary sunset. If weather permits, enjoy a firefly light show on your way back to the lodge for dinner.
After dinner, join a night safari drive to see the nocturnal wildlife.
After a quick bite, set out for a short morning hike. Visit the Cuckoo Hide to photograph Borneo's endemic birds and other local birdlife. Return to the lodge to freshen up and enjoy breakfast at the restaurant.
After breakfast, if weather and sea conditions allow, embark on a river cruise along the coastline and into the Segama River's mangrove forest. Look out for wildlife like flying foxes, eagles, and dolphins.
Head back to the lodge to relax before lunch.
Explore the lodge's information gallery, shop for souvenirs, enjoy in-house beverages at the restaurant, and take a dip in the pool.
In the evening, enjoy dinner and go on a night walk around the lodge. Look for nocturnal creatures like civets, leopard cats, mouse deer, and moonrats.
Return to the lodge for a good night's rest.

Start your day with breakfast before heading out on a short hike to explore the rainforest around the lodge.
Return to the lodge to prepare for a morning river cruise along the coastline, seeking out more wildlife. Afterward, come back for a delicious lunch and enjoy some leisure time.
Cool off with a refreshing dip in the plunge pool and browse the souvenir corner for some shopping.
In the late afternoon, take a sunset river cruise. Afterward, return to the lodge to freshen up and enjoy dinner. End the night with an exciting night safari drive.
Day 4: Return Home

In the morning, savor a hearty breakfast and spend your free time relaxing before indulging in a delicious lunch and preparing for check-out.
Head to Lahad Datu for your late afternoon flight departure.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!

Be sure to sign up for all the tours, otherwise you will be sitting on the boat since not all stops are moored at a dock. Some are anchored.

There were two best aspects to our trip:
1. The Adventure Life folks and the folks in Athens and Crete who supported our itinerary, guided us, and ran the cooking program were all superb.
2. Everything they all planned for us went without a hitch. When we needed a bit of help, they came through with really good answers.
