Luxury Glamping and Whales of Magdalena Bay

Arrive at the airport in San Jose del Cabo to meet your guides for the 90-minute drive to Todos Santos. After settling into a room with expansive ocean views, enjoy a gourmet taco welcome dinner on the grounds of the property. During dinner, listen as your guides conduct a briefing to outline the upcoming adventures. Upon arrival, settle into your hotel in Todos Santos to rest or explore at your leisure.

After breakfast, drive north to reach Magdalena Bay, traveling approximately 3 hours to arrive at Camp Cecil de la Bahia. The camp sits on a sliver of land between the gray whale lagoon and a protected estuary with mangroves. Settle into a walk-in safari-style tent featuring a comfortable bed, seating area, chandelier, and ensuite bathroom. The camp chef prepares three daily meals and a happy hour for you to enjoy in this remote setting.

Your days are spent on the water interacting with gray whale mothers, calves, and males that migrate 6,000 miles to these lagoons. During these excursions, mothers often bring their babies right up to the boat to say hello, and calves frequently present themselves alongside the vessel. You might find males sidling along the boat to spout water in a playful display, or experience the quiet power of a whale lifting its head from the water to look you straight in the eye. When not watching whales, navigate the mangrove estuary to observe dolphins and diverse birdlife. You spend these nights at Camp Cecil de la Bahia, completely ensconced in nature.

Wake up early for your last morning and head out on the water with the whales before returning to Todos Santos. This return trip takes approximately 3 hours and includes a celebratory lunch stop along the way.

Upon arrival, join chef-in-residence Iker Algorri, author of Cooking Adventures in Baja California Sur, for a Mexican Survival Cooking Class. You learn the "Magnificence of Simplicity" philosophy while mastering the craft of a perfect margarita and traditional Mexican dishes. The evening concludes with a farewell dinner accompanied by curated Latin music. Be prepared to move, as dancing often follows the meal.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure.
