Ride from the Andean Highlands and descend into the foothills that overlook the Amazon Basin during this 5 day trip that begins and ends in Cusco. Ride from Cusco and head north to Lares and sit in the hot springs. Visit Quillabamba and then return to the Sacred Valley. Fully-supported trip with vehicle assistance and deluxe camping.
Activities that provide a reasonable level of physical challenge and elevate the heart rate. Focused on more active pursuits including multisport tours. Travelers may be active 5-7 hours total each day. Recommended for travelers with active lifestyles.
Early in the morning, drive for 3 hours to the mountain pass of Lares (13,986 ft). Start our downhill ride through the Andes, and after four hours, we reach the hot springs of Lares. The natural thermal waters are a perfect end to the day. We will set up camp here and have an exquisite dinner. (Total biking distance of 23 km)
Day 2: Downhill towards the Amazon

After an early breakfast we will start the 78 km ride (mostly downhill) to the town of Santiago. The landscape changes as we descend from the high Andes through the cloud forest to finally end at the mountains above the Amazon. Upon arrival to Santiago, we will set camp and enjoy the Amazon sky filled with stars. (Total biking distance of 78 km; vehicle support available)
Day 3: Quellouno
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Today, ride to Quellouno. We will get our swimming suits and go straight to the river for a swim, and the rest of the afternoon is free for exploring this town. We will camp this evening. (Total biking distance of 35 km)
Day 4: Quillabamba
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
We will wake up at dawn and start a long ride of 98 km to Quillabamba on a dirt road. The support vehicle is following the group for any bikers that would like to take a break and ride in the van.
Quillabamba is a traditional Amazonian town that is a crossroad between the Andes and the Amazon and is one of Peru's most important tea- and coffee-producing regions. Stay at the Hotel Quillabamba tonight, relax by the pool, and enjoy dinner. (Total biking distance of 98 km; vehicle support available)
Day 5: Sacred Valley. Return to Cusco

Our 19 day personalized trip to Peru was amazing and memorable.
