Day 1: Lima

A transport service picks you up from the airport at the scheduled time and takes you to your hotel in Lima. The Peruvian capital, steeped in history, is a vibrant modern city currently experiencing dynamic cultural and economic transformations.

In the evening, go from your hotel to the restaurant for a delightful dinner experience. Nestled within the historic confines of an ancient adobe pyramid, crafted over 1,500 years ago by Lima's indigenous inhabitants, the restaurant offers an unparalleled setting for your dining pleasure. The restaurant boasts a charming rustic colonial design. You have the option to dine indoors or outdoors, though the covered terrace is highly recommended. The menu features inventive dishes infused with spicy elements of traditional Peruvian creole cuisine. Following your meal, make your way back to your hotel.

Overnight at the selected hotel in Lima.

Day 2: Lima Gastronomy and City Tour

Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel. Following that, transportation will be arranged for you from your accommodation to the district of San Isidro. There, you may explore the local market, renowned for its diverse selection of fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish—a feast for both the eyes and the nose. Following the market tour, head to a restaurant and participate in a cocktail demonstration class, gaining insight into the preparation of the renowned pisco sour. Additionally, a cooking demonstration class is provided, teaching the art of crafting a delicious typical Peruvian dish. Following both classes, indulge in a delicious lunch before returning to your hotel.

In the afternoon, prepare to explore Lima's old town, recognized as a Unesco World Heritage Site, which brims with captivating historic structures. Begin your tour with Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by the conquistador Francisco Pizarro to one of his captains, Jeronimo de Aliaga. Notably, this is the only house in the period that remains under the ownership of its original family. Continue with a scenic journey through the colonial center. Take in the sights at Plaza de Armas, where you can admire the grand architecture of the Spanish Empire. Here stands its magnificent Cathedral, constructed in the 16th century. The tour concludes at the Larco Museum, situated in the district of Pueblo Libre.

The Larco Museum ranks among the top 25 best museums worldwide according to TripAdvisor users. It showcases a remarkable assortment of pre-Columbian artifacts, including gold and silver pieces, textiles, and erotic art. Following the visit, return to your hotel.

Day 3: Half-day Barranco Park Tour and Explore Lima's Street Food

Drive to Barranco and take a leisurely stroll through this charming and traditional district, which is considered the most romantic and bohemian in the city. It is the residence and workplace of many of Peru's top artists, musicians, designers, and photographers. Stop at the Park of Barranco to sample the delightful traditional Peruvian anticuchos, crafted from beef heart and seasoned with garlic, vinegar, cumin, and aji panca, a mild red chili pepper with a smoky taste. Indulge in the typical picarones as well, a delightful dessert with a sweet flavor, crisp texture, and warm center, drizzled with syrup. Then, return to your hotel.

Day 4: Departure from Lima

  • 1 Breakfast
Following breakfast, transfer to Cusco Airport for your departing flight.

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.
