Bienvenida!!!!
We settled in our hotel and they welcomed us with Coca Tea. Coca leaves are sacred to the Andean people and have been used to relieve the symptoms of mild altitude sickness, headaches, sore throats, and upset stomach aches- which we needed the most! Philippines is below sea-level and we had to acclimatize before starting any activity in Cusco.
However, due to tight schedule, we are off to our tour on the same day of arrival. Shortly thereafter, we met our Peruvian guide, Edgar, and found him to be absolutely charming and attentive from the start.
He handed us our BTC tickets which includes entrances to major sights in Peru.
Our 1st stop: Sacsayhuaman, an old fortress with a great view over the entire valley. What an awe! The pronunciation of Sacsayhuaman noticeably resembles "Sexy Woman" in English. Therefore everyone calls it that way, especially the local touts selling the tours in the city center.
Then we headed to the Center for Traditional textile. And yeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhh, my first Alpaca encounter! At first, I am scared but they're friendly! Nothing to worry about.
3rd stop:Convento Santo Domingo
4th stop. Coricancha
Italy??!! No.. it's the Cusco city view! Cusco has outstanding facts is its unique architecture in the world. The architecture could be considered a mixture of Inca and Spanish influences.
and more.... more churches we visited to. Last stop: The city's main plaza, Plaza de Armas!
