Gardner Bay | Punta Suarez - Espanola Island

The next morning, we arrived at Gardner Bay, a magnificent white sand beach, home to sea lions and sea birds. The first birds we saw were Espanola mockingbirds, an island-specific species searching for food and water in the beach.

Here's a picture of some mockingbirds and oystercatcher who's on the lookout for food and a sea lion posing very well for photos!

We arrived in Punta Suarez in the afternoon, it is one of the Galapagos' oldest islands and known for its amazing bird colonies and home to the waved albatross.

We were greeted by a swarm of marine iguanas, which was a little creepy for me because they were everywhere!

The journey going up was quite difficult, but the effort was definitely worth it in the end.  We could sit there for hours simply watching the birds soar around us. It is one of the world's most unique experiences. Photos cannot capture or simply justify how fascinating it was to witness so many different types of birds flying, while appreciating breathtaking view from the top.
