Barely definable as an island, this long strip of beach and rocks between Baltra and North Seymour measures just 160-meters across and around 600 meters long and is home primarily to shorebirds and one of the largest sea lion colonies in the Galapagos. While some sea lions might not be afraid to come right up to you, it’s always a safe rule to remember that the dominant male sea lions can be aggressive and defensive of their territory. Keep an eye out for orcas that occasionally come here to feed on the sea lions.
