Retreat to the tranquil waters of the Caribbean seas, while at the same time enjoying the comforts of a casually elegant hideaway on Isla Bastimentos. Your days are wide open in this all-inclusive package to explore the surrounding islands, whether by land or by sea. One of the most biodiverse areas in Panama, come and see all that the Bocas del Toro Archipelago can offer!
Highlights
Navigate through the Bocas archipelago's canals, mangroves, and communities
Search for an array of wildlife
Kayak Boca del Toro, the "Galapagos of the Caribbean"
Hike beneath the canopy and through the cool moist air of the jungle
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
This morning you are off to your private island escape. You are picked up and transferred to the domestic airport for your flight west to Bocas del Toro. Once you arrive, board a water taxi and navigate through the Bocas archipelago's small canals, passing local communities, mangroves, and into the Caribbean Sea. Arrive to your home for the next 5 nights, a secluded casually elegant resort overlooking Tranquilo Bay. Enjoy a welcome lunch upon your arrival, and spend the rest of the afternoon exploring your new surroundings.
Awake in your bungalow overlooking the Caribbean Sea ready for a day of exploration of the natural beauty all around. Included during your stay is one standard activity each day.
You can spend your days snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, surfing, birding, or exploring nearby beaches. Your days are filled with marine and inland exploration, followed by a relaxing evening in the middle of paradise!
The island's midsection and surrounding waters are protected in the Isla Bastimentos National Marine Park, and the entire island offers nature lovers an array of wildlife, both terrestrial and marine. The waters here are filled with brilliant parrot fish, angel fish, red snapper, slender needle fish, and many others. The forests are home to many endemic and endangered species such as neon-colored frogs, the red-billed tropic bird, and two- and three-toed sloths.
This morning return to Bocas del Toro to catch your short flight over the vast jungles and into the center of Panama's vibrant capital city. You are met at the airport for a tour of the Miraflores locks of the Panama Canal to observe the "eighth wonder of the world." Locomotives tie onto the mammoth ships and pull them through the locks to lessen the chance of mishap. Next you will visit Casco Antiguo Panama's "second" city, whose Spanish and French architecture reminds one of its past citizens. Last, you will finish up the tour with ruins of Panama La Vieja, where loads of Peru's gold once crossed. Later the pirate Henry Morgan came in search of the famed gold, and after Morgan's attack in 1671, Casco Antiguo was built. You are transferred back to your hotel to enjoy your last afternoon in Panama City.

Good to ideal period to travel, and many people choose to visit at this time.
Chance for unpredictable weather but with fewer visitors.
Everything was amazing! The planning with Adventure Life went smoothly. The actual trip was fantastic! One of the best trips I have experienced. The cruise staff members were knowledgeable and attentive. I will be writing more about this on the blog!

The holiday of a lifetime. The company is Alaksa-owned and thhat makes a big difference to the experineces you get i.e. meet genuine First Nations tribes people. The amount of wildlife was beyond my expectation, and seeing everything on sucha small, intimate boat made it even more spoecial and unique.

It was an outstanding, up-close, educational vacation of nature, culture, history, animals and geology! It was everything they promised! Binoculars were plentiful on the boat, but I'm glad I brought my own. Food was excellent. Rooms had black-out shades. Pack/wear multiple layers of clothing (I carried a small backpack when off the ship). Crew were delightful and very accommodating! Remember to jump FEET FIRST first when taking the optional polar plunge! Spend as much time outdoors as you are able and ENJOY!!!

Excellent travel advice and service
This is my second experience working with Adventure Life. I’m sold. Jess Heuermann is an experienced traveler and provides a lot of useful information when planning a trip. These are the questions I like to ask at the outset - What’s it like to go here, there, what would you suggest, what do people report, can we add any additional side trips? Jess took the time to answer my questions and seek additional information to share with me. Petchie Colina is outstanding in helping with travel logistics and final preparations. Adventure Life has excellent guides and offers private guides and small group adventures. We enjoyed the opportunity to talk with the guides and drivers to learn more about their countries, cultures and histories. A highlight was having the guides pick local restaurants where we could share meals together. Highly recommend.

Our six-day tour in Iceland went smoothly with one exception. We had asked for two rooms each night. Somehow we were booked with one room with three beds. It could not be fixed at the first hotel in Reykjavik because the hotel was fully booked. Once informed of the problem, however, Adventure Life rebooked for two rooms for the remainder of the trip. As an 85-year-old traveler, I appreciated that one could participate at different physical levels at many of the stops. Iceland is a great place to visit but on the expensive side.
