Bellavista Cloud Forest Reserve Lodge operates within a 700-hectare pre-montane cloud forest characterized by steep mountains, gorges, and streams. Situated two hours from Quito, the reserve ranges from 1,400 to 2,600 meters in elevation, supporting year-round blooming flora, including bromeliads, orchids, and high epiphyte diversity. The property serves as a habitat for over 320 bird species, such as the Plate-billed Mountain-Toucan, alongside mammals like the puma, Andean coati, tayra, and endangered Spectacled Bear. Affiliated with the Fundacion Siempre Bosque, the lodge directs revenue toward conservation, scientific research, and environmental education.
