You reach Korcula at noon and disembark after lunch for an optional excursion into the pine forested island of Korcula, the birthplace of Marco Polo with her walled town, secluded bays and breathtaking views. Late afternoon sail to Crotone, Italy. Overnight at sea.
Morning arrival in the port city of Crotone. Your optional excursion will allow you to explore a city that was once one of the most flourishing cities of Magna Graecia, an area of Southern Italy extensively colonized by Greek settlers. You will visit Crotone's medieval cathedral, the 16th century castle of Charles V, as well as numerous museums and art. Late afternoon sailing to Taormina, Sicily. Overnight at sea.
Morning arrival in beautiful Taormina, clinging to the cliffs over the sea. With endlessly winding medieval streets and secluded gardens hidden by stone walls, Taormina enchants visitors with its history and beauty. Your optional morning and early afternoon excursion, features a stroll along the Corso Umberto through the Old Town, lined with piazza, duomos and palazzi such as the Palazzo Santo Stefano. Later you will take a guided tour of the ancient Greek Theatre, hewn out of a rocky mountain slope during the Hellenistic period, remodeled by the Romans. The amphitheatre offers magnificent views of the sea and is one of Sicily's largest. Late in afternoon sail to Naples. Overnight at sea.
Morning arrival in Naples –Optional excursions to Pompeii and to Mt Vesuvius. Follow your expert local guide through the ancient ruins of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed city. Enjoy a traditional Italian pizza lunch with your small group and then hike to the top of the notorious volcano, where you’ll find stunning views of the Bay of Naples and the surrounding landscapes. Child Discount:
Children between the ages of 7-10 sharing a cabin with two paying adults receive a 50% discount. Children between the ages of 10-16 sharing a cabin with two paying adults receive a 35% discount.
Initial deposit is 30%, and most travelers will call our office and pay the deposit with a credit card.
Final payment is due 70 days prior to departure by bank transfer, check or credit card. All final payments by credit card may be subject to a surcharge and maximum of $20,000 charge.
Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
