Day 1: Venice, Italy | Embark

Venice has been known as the "Queen of the Adriatic," "City of Water," "City of Masks," "City of Bridges," "The Floating City," and "City of Canals." Luigi Barzini, writing in the New York Times, described it as "undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man." Venice has also been described by the Times Online as being one of Europe's most romantic cities. Founded in the 5th century, the city stretches across 118 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic. In 1987, Venice and its lagoon was inscribed as a UNESCO Heritage site. SeaDream typically docks at the San Basilio pier after navigating by the famous St. Mark’s Square down the grand canal. With their yacht stature, SeaDream vessels are among the very few commercial vessels that can navigate this famous waterway. SeaDream does offer land adventures when overnighting. You can also contact our destination specialists should you need a private arrangement, transfer or hotel recommendation.

Embark from Venice on the Sea Dream II this afternoon.

Day 2: Zadar, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Welcome to the Dalmatian Coast. Zadar is the oldest inhabited city in Croatia and dates back to 59 BC when the city was a Roman municipality featuring traditional Roman infrastructure and early urban planning. The city’s modern history includes major transformations during World War II and the 1990s during the country’s war of independence. Enjoy the beautiful streets, amazing architecture, and beautiful culture that the city had to offer.

Day 3: Hvar, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Hvar is a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea. The island of Hvar is somewhat unusual as it is blessed, with a large fertile coastal plain and fresh water springs. Its hillsides are covered in pine forests, with vineyards, olive groves, fruit orchards, and lavender fields in the agricultural areas. The climate is characterized by mild winters and warm summers with many hours of sunshine. Guests have an option to kayak down the coastline on one of our land adventures or take an independent hike up to the fortress to have some incredible views of the picturesque harbor. You also have an option to bike across the island to Starigrad and meet up with the other guests on the land adventure called “The best of Both Worlds".

Day 4: Vis Island, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
This island holds a host of accolades, from being the oldest town in Croatia and hosting the oldest regatta in Europe to featuring some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. With a picturesque coastline, it is easy to see why Vis was selected as the backdrop for the 2018 feature film “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.” The farthest inhabited island off the Croatian mainland, Vis has an interesting cultural heritage after being secluded from foreign visitors up until the late 1980s. This history of isolation has been a key in keeping the island pure, making Vis an ideal destination for those seeking authenticity.

Day 5: Dubrovnik, Croatia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Dubrovnik (Pearl of the Adriatic) is one of the most prominent destinations in the Adriatic Sea. It lies in the region of Dalmatia and was awarded World Unesco Heritage status in 1979. The population is approximately 43,000 and is considered to be among the 10 best medieval walled cities in the world. SeaDream anchors off the walled city as a port of call and tenders directly to the town gate. If you check the land adventures here, you will find that there are many different excursions to consider in this incredible town. Dubrovnik is also an embarkation point on select voyages. On these occasions, the yacht is docked at the cruise terminal.

Day 6-7: Corfu, Greece

  • Ship
  • 2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches, 2 Dinners
Corfu is the second-largest Greek island in the Ionian Sea and is considered to be the greenest. The municipality includes the island of Corfu and the smaller islands of Ereikoussa, Mathraki, and Othonoi. Its Greek name, Kerkyra or Korkyra, is related to two powerful water symbols: Poseidon, god of the sea, and Asopos, an important Greek mainland river. In 2007, the island's old town was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. SeaDream docks at the cruise port and offers guests an assortment of varied land adventures. A shuttle bus will be arranged to the old town, and the mountain bikes will be available for independent exploration. Perhaps the most popular attraction on the island other than the impressive old town is the Achillion Palace, the summer palace of Austria’s Empress Elizabeth. It truly is worth exploring.

Day 8: Fiskardo, Kefalonia, Greece

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Fiskardo is a village located about 54 km north of Argostoli and a district of the city of Erisos. The coast around Fiskardo is mainly rocky with numerous pebble-beached coves. There are numerous viewpoints in the area around the village that offer panoramic views of the Ionian Sea including Daskalio island, Ithaca, northwestern Aetolia-Acarnania, and the island of Lefkada.

Day 9: Santa Maria di leuca, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Located on the southernmost tip of the Salento peninsula, the “heel” of Italy’s “boot,” Santa Maria di Leuca is home to an iconic lighthouse and Sanctuary of Leuca, a must-see for art enthusiasts. Built from the ruins of an ancient pagan temple, the Sanctuary has valuable works of art on display, including the 1625 Madonna with Child by Andrea Cunavi and the Sacred Family canvas donated by the Baroness Maria Serafini-Sauli in the 18th century. Perfect for exploring and hiking, the region is known for its impressive geological formations such as dozens of underwater caves and a seaside ravine with picturesque views of Fjord del Ciolo.

Day 10: Taormina, Sicily, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
SeaDream yachts anchor in the bay of Giardini Naxos and offer fantastic views of the recently awarded UNESCO Natural Site of Mt. Etna (2013) as well as Taormina perched on the cliffside. A shuttle bus service has been arranged to transport guests from Giardini Naxos to the entrance gate of Taormina town. For the SeaDream active guests, office-led hikes and bike rides could also transport you to Taormina town or continue up to Castelmola which provides amazing views of the surrounding areas. Perhaps the “must do” adventure here would be to ascend Mt. Etna with your fellow SeaDreamers. Kindly check the Land Adventure tab for the specifics. Other options include an incredible and authentic feast at the Godfather Villa. This “SeaDream Exclusive” Land Adventure requires a high minimum to operate, but it’s worth every penny! As we are anchored and if conditions allow, we will offer water sports both in the morning and in the afternoon. Molto Bene!

Day 11: Capri, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Capri may very well be the most popular island on the planet. It is a beautiful Italian island in the Tyrrhenian Sea just off the Sorrentine Peninsula, on the south side of the Bay of Naples. Capri town is the island’s main population center. The island has two harbors, Marina Piccola and Marina Grande (the island's main port). The separate village of Anacapri is located high on the hills to the west. From there, visitors can continue up to the highest point Mt. Solero. Besides some simply amazing shopping boutiques, the island has so much to offer including the famous Grotta Azzurra, Villa Jovis, Giardini di Augusto, Certosa di San Giacomo, Villa San Michele di Axel Munthe, and the uniquely shaped Faraglioni rocks. SeaDream has put together most of the sights into one adventure called “Discovering the Island of Love” Kindly check the Land Adventures tab for more information. There are also some great hikes available on the island, check with the activities team on board for details.

Day 12: Civitavecchia, Rome, Italy | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
Civitavecchia is a major port located in Rome, primarily utilized for maritime transportation of goods and a fishing port. The commune’s name means “ancient town” and is one of the “motorways of the sea” in the Mediterranean, functioning as one of the main links between the mainland of Italy and the island of Sardinia. The ancient name of the port was “Centumcellae,” first mentioned in a letter written by Pliny the Younger in 107 A.D., although scholars debate on whether the name was about the number of rooms of the Trajan Villa or the number of natural creeks on the coast. Civitavecchia is a part of the Lazio Territory, an area that was confirmed to have social groups since pre-historic times, and the modern town was built over a pre-existing settlement of the Etruscan people in 107-108 B.C.E. (who debated to have founded Rome). At the beginning of the 2nd century, the harbor and town of Centumcellae were simultaneously developed by Emperor Trajan in the territory of Aquae Tauri. As the town became more popular for ships traveling westbound, the Thermal Baths were constructed on the hill of Ficoncella. Centumcellae flourished in the Imperial Age, and by 538 A.D., it had become a Byzantine stronghold. In 728 A.D., it became a member of the Papal States. The Saracens raided Centumcellae many times in the 9th century, prompting Pope Leo VII to build a newer and more secure settlement by 854. The town, then known as Civita Vetula, was under the rule of several lords, and the Popes temporarily lost control during the French Rule in 1798-1815. In 1870, it entered the Kingdom of Italy. Civitavecchia was severely damaged during WWII, destroying many of the ancient monuments including Forte Michelangelo, which would be rebuilt in the 1950s. Popular points of interest include the Forte Michelangelo, Terme Taurine, and Cattedrale di San Francesco. There is a wealth of Roman and Vatican architecture and tourists are encouraged to visit many of the museums and take the cultural tours available in this important seaport.

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
