Athens remains an iconic destination, where the winding pathways from ancient times have transformed into modern-day roads and streets, leading visitors to the monumental gateway of the Acropolis and other archaeological sites. The city is rich in history and mythology but also embraces modernity.
As you explore the back alleys, you'll come across street art and street musicians serenading you. You'll never feel lost as you are simply taking a journey to an unknown destination. You may discover lesser-known historical sites such as the Church of Agioi, located at the southeast corner of the Holy Apostles Ancient Agora, away from the crowds of tourists.
For a unique shopping experience, head to Plaka or Monastiraki flea market and try your hand at haggling with local vendors. You'll find an abundance of handmade wares and trinkets to peruse and purchase. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the more risqué souvenirs if you want a good laugh.
Apart from exploring the cradle of Western Civilization, visitors can also explore the port of Piraeus, the largest port in Greece and one of the most important ports of the Mediterranean. Centuries of history have transformed this seaside town from a wartime fortress to a major shipping and transportation center.
The Corinth Canal, with its sheer limestone cliffs standing about 70 feet wide at sea level and 81 feet wide at the top, 300 feet tall, and stretching only four miles long, is a narrow passage that only smaller ships and boats, like the yachts we provide, can navigate. As you stand on the deck during this adventurous expedition, you'll be struck by the awe-inspiring views and feel a true sense of exploration.
Established as a Greek colony and having been under Byzantine and Roman rule, the city of Durrës has a long and ancient history. A Roman amphitheater built in the second century by Emperor Trajan has been partially unearthed and is a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The architecture of the city’s castle and the archaeological museum remind visitors of its ancient past. Wineries and vineyards such as Abaia and Duka bring you back to the present with selections of Merlot, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Albanian varietals known as white and black Shesh. From this port city, you can go to Albania’s capital, Tiran, where you can find fascinating highlights like BUNK’ART, a former anti-nuclear bunker made into art and history centers.
Along the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia lies Dubrovnik, a city well-known for its 16th-century Old Town. Filled with enchanting historic sites and containing a sense of stories past, the Croatian city has rightly earned its place on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Delve into the fantastical side of the city as you tour the streets that have become part of cinematic history. Take a break from history for a relaxing beach day with a quick ferry ride to Lokrum Island. Delve deep into the local culture with wine and delectable meat and cheese platters.
Sitting on Italy’s Adriatic coast, Ancona’s harbor invites you to explore a scene of turquoise waters and sprawling, verdant hills. Founded by Greek settlers around 387 BCE, its old town, Roman arches, Romanesque churches, archaeological artifacts, and Renaissance palazzi remind you of the city’s longstanding history. Towering above the town from Monte Guasco sits the Cattedrale di San Ciriaco, an 11th-century structure with prominent marble lions on its facade that creates an iconic image. Minutes away from the city center, a panoramic staircase leads down to the stunning stretch of Passetto Beach. Take the panoramic elevator for a breathtaking view and explore the caves carved into the rocks over 100 years ago. Nature lovers enjoy walking along the promontory of Conero Regional Park, a leisurely path ideal for birdwatching and beautiful views of the Riviera.
The iconic image of Venice shows a city with no roads, only canals because it’s built on over 100 small islands in a lagoon amid the Adriatic Sea. In the heart of the city close to Piazza San Marco you will find the Bridge of Sighs, an architectural jewel amid many historical wonders. Venetian cuisine is renowned throughout Italy for its high-quality seafood. Positioned within a lagoon, local chefs and restaurants have the advantage of fresh-caught fish directly from the source and bringing it straight to their tables.
Venice is a unique city located on small islands in a lagoon. It's known for its canals and famous Bridge of Sighs. The city is also famous for its delicious seafood cuisine. Come and immerse yourself in the charms of this captivating city.

Its position close to the Dalmatian coast means it’s a prime spot to search for beaches on the outskirts. Become transported to a time that feels like a story out of a fairytale with a visit to the Land Gate, the main entrance to the city. Take a stroll through the local farmers’ market where you can find fresh fruits, vegetables, and locally sourced olive oil.
Along the Adriatic coast of Montenegro lies the fortified town of Kotor, known for its medieval old town with winding streets and historic squares, as well as its many Romanesque churches and Maritime Museum. This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
