Day 1: Civitavecchia | Embark

St. Peter's, with its breathtaking Sistine Chapel, newly restored to its former glory- the Spanish Steps, where all of Rome passes by the Colosseum, where gladiators fought to the death, and the Pantheon, considered to be the perfect architectural statement of the ages.

Day 2: At Sea

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges and a peaceful library.

Day 3: Lipari, Aeolian Islands | Stromboli, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Italy's seven volcanic Aeolian Islands, just off the north coast of Sicily, are places favored by the gods. In Lipari, climb narrow streets to the medieval castle and enjoy a secluded beach. As Star Flyer sails past Isola Strómboli, watch the sky for frequent volcanic fireworks.

Sail around Stromboli with the backdrop of its famous active volcano, which had its last major eruption in April 2009.

Day 4: Messina, Sicily, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Messina was a significant transport hub for centuries and remains a gateway to the island of Sicily. Messina is home to one of Sicily's finest cathedrals, with the world's most oversized and complex mechanical and astronomical clocks. Try the lemon granita (shaved ice) or the famous mezza con panna al caffè, a half glass of coffee-flavored granita and cream.

Day 5: Amalfi, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Amalfi was a powerful republic of 70,000 people during the Middle Ages, rivaling nearby Ravello. For a sense of Amalfi's medieval glory, wander through the grand Duomo, containing the remains of St. Andrew. In the evening, visit nearby Positano, the most beautiful town in the Mediterranean.

Day 6: Ponza, Pontine Island, Italy

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The pastel houses of Ponza Town rise in neat terraced rows from the busy harbor, where sleekly groomed yachts and ramshackle fishing boats moor side by side. Happily, there are few tourists here, so it's a delight to wander through the unspoiled town.

Day 7: Civitavecchia

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
St. Peter's, with its breathtaking Sistine Chapel, newly restored to its former glory- the Spanish Steps, where all of Rome passes by the Colosseum, where gladiators fought to the death, and the Pantheon, considered to be the perfect architectural statement of the ages.

Day 8: Portoferraio

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
From his villa in Portoferraio, Napoleon, the exiled Emperor of France, looked out over the waiting ships in the harbor and dreamed of returning to glory. Enjoy a local vineyard tour, and near Portoferraio, discover the remains of an ancient Etruscan civilization.

Day 9: East Corsica (Beach) | Bastia (Old Town), France

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
East Corsica is one of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica. The water is crystal clear, calm, and warm, but the beach's main attraction is that it is never crowded.

It's incredible in this day and age to find a Mediterranean city that looks like it stepped right out of the travel diary of a 19th-century Grand Tour. Bastia's gracious Italianate buildings were created to house the administrative offices of the capital of Haute Corse.

Day 10: Bonifacio, Corsica, France

  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Bonifacio's almost land-locked harbor is one of the most dramatic, protected harbors. It is a bustling port with excellent seafood restaurants and a modern marina. The ancient citadel town is perched high atop a seemingly impenetrable cliff.

Day 11: Alghero, Sardinia, Italy

  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Alghero is the central resort northwest of Sardinia and one of its most beautiful medieval cities. Its bustling historic center is packed with excellent bars and restaurants, making it a great place to hang out. It is also ideally placed for exploring the beaches of nearby Riviera del Corallo. Interestingly, a form of medieval Catalan is still spoken even though the Iberians left three centuries ago.

Day 12: Ajaccio, Corsica, France

  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Ajaccio has a justified reputation as a very stylish city. Napoleon Bonaparte was born here in 1769, and as you would expect, the town has many sites relating to him, from his childhood home to seafront statues, museums, and street names. Its immediate surroundings are a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, trekkers, and climbers. It provides a range of outdoor activities you can enjoy yourself or with professionals.

Day 13: Calvi, Corsica, France

  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Napoleon once said that he could recognize his native island blindfolded because of the beautiful perfume of the maquis. Approaching by sea is the first thing you experience about Corsica. The second is its wild and mountainous landscape. Nearby are secluded beaches and the eerie Grottes des Veaux Marins, offering fantastic diving opportunities.

Day 14: St. Tropez, France

  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
It is said that the most spectacular way to approach the exquisite harbor of St. Tropez is by sea. St. Tropez is a people-watchers paradise, so you can also want to explore her famous beaches, restaurants, and bars. The appropriately named Tahiti Plage is where topless sun tanning started, and whether you prefer to take it off or take it all in, there's always plenty to see in St. Tropez.

Day 15: Nice, France | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
Nice, nestled along the azure shores of the French Riviera, captivates visitors with its enchanting blend of Mediterranean charm and cosmopolitan allure. This picturesque city, known for its stunning Promenade des Anglais, boasts a dazzling coastline with pebble beaches and clear turquoise waters. Stroll through the charming Old Town (Vieux Nice) to discover a labyrinth of narrow, cobblestone streets with vibrant markets, quaint cafes, and colorful façades. Nice is also a cultural hub, with world-class museums like the Marc Chagall National Museum and the Matisse Museum, showcasing an impressive art collection. Whether savoring delectable Provençal cuisine at a seaside bistro, enjoying the annual Carnival of Nice, or simply basking in the Mediterranean sun, Nice embodies the essence of the French Riviera's effortless elegance and allure.
