Day 1: Baltra | Embark | North Seymour

  • Ship
  • 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Arrive to the Galapagos and transfer to your ship, the Corals. Off of Baltra Island (where the airport is located) and not far from Santa Cruz, North Seymour is the most accessible for day trips out of Santa Cruz’s main port, Puerto Ayora. An approximately two-hour walk amidst large nesting colonies of blue-footed boobies*, magnificent and great frigatebirds,* and swallow-tailed gulls for an in-depth encounter with sea bird breeding cycles and as well as sea lions. You will also encounter sea lions, and land iguanas, and on a lucky day, you might even come across a Galapagos Snake.

Day 2: Charles Darwin Research Station & Fausto Llerena Breeding Center | El Chato | Mosquera

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Land in Charles Darwin Station and Fausto Llerena Breeding Center where the Galapagos giant tortoise breeding program takes place as part of our efforts to preserve the fragile Galapagos environment and where the famous Lonesome George (the last surviving specimen of his species) lived for decades. Here you will be able to see tortoises through all their stages including hatchings, juveniles, and full-grown individuals.

In the afternoon, visit Mosquera Islet is a tectonic uplift of sands, coral reefs and rocks, located between North Seymour and Baltra Islands. This flat 0.022 mi (0.06 km ) white-sand island has one of the largest colonies of sea lions. Because of this, there are occasional reports of killer whales seen around this islet. It is also an excellent site for observing shorebirds such as herons and Lava Gulls. You can also spot marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies and sally light food crabs.

Day 3: Santa Fe | South Plaza

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
This morning enjoy Santa Fe´s white sand beach and find yourself surrounded by a sea lion colony. Continue walking through an endemic cactus forest and search for the endemic Santa Fe land iguana (the largest in the islands). This island is home to a number of endemic species including Galapagos hawk, Galapagos snake, rice rats, a variety of finches, and one of the four mockingbird species of the Galapagos.

In the afternoon walk through an impressive cactus forest surrounded by the colorful yellow and red land iguanas and marine iguanas and keep a look out for tropicbirds and one of the largest sea lion colonies. Encounter the one and only Galapagos hybrid iguana and stumble upon a bright red landscape which is a characteristic of the island during the dry season.

Day 4: Lobos Island | Disembark | San Cristobal Airport

  • 1 Breakfast
This morning sail through Lobos Island, approximately 20 minutes by boat from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. The length of the trail is 850 meters, and the estimated travel time is one hour. There is a small population of blue-footed boobies and common frigatebirds nest at this site. You can see the two species of sea lions present in the Archipelago. During the boat ride, you can see brown pelicans and several species of shorebirds.

After your visit, transfer to the airport for your flight back to mainland Ecuador.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
