Day 1: Civitavecchia, Italy | Embark

St. Peter's, with its breathtaking Sistine Chapel, newly restored to its former glory; the Spanish Steps, where all Rome passes by; the Colosseum, where gladiators fought to the death, and the Pantheon, considered to be the most perfect architectural statement of the ages.

Day 2: Bonifacio, Corsica

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Bonifacio's almost land-locked harbor is one of the most dramatic, totally protected harbors. It is a bustling port with excellent seafood restaurants and a modern marina. The ancient citadel town is perched high atop a seemingly impenetrable cliff.

Day 3: Mahon, Menorca

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Gracious Georgian buildings climb the steep hills backing the Moll Ponent. Mahon's heritage also includes the invention of mayonnaise and the first distillation of gin from juniper berries.

Day 4: Ibiza, Spain

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Ibiza is a place where people hang out because, except for the medieval walls, you could almost think it was the Med's version of Key West. But away from the hustle of town, some lovely beaches await.

Day 5: At Sea

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner

Day 6: Motril, Spain

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The town of Motril is located in the Spanish region of Andalucia on the Costa Tropical. Nestling at the foothills of the Sierra Lujar mountains, the town's coastal strip includes two main beaches - the busy Playa Poniente, and the quieter Playa Granada.

Day 7: At sea

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner

Day 8: Safi, Morocco

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Today, Safi is mainly modern, home to a fishing port and diversified industries. The old town which lies within the city is still very much alive. Here you may be tempted to buy pottery typical of this part of the region.

Day 9: Casablanca, Morocco

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Long before Ingrid Bergman and Bogie made Casablanca a symbol for romance, the city was famous for intrigue and mystery. Veiled by overlapping mantles of French, Arabian and African culture, Casablanca reveals new faces at every turn. The enormous Hassan II Mosque (holding 70,000 worshippers) is the new Morocco, while the fanciful Mauresque buildings in the Medina impart visions of pre-war Casablanca.

Day 10: Tangier, Morocco

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Tangier was the real model for the famous American film "Casablanca" with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. It still retains its faded mongrel charm - not entirely Moroccan, European, or African but a heady mix of all three.

Day 11: Cadiz, Spain

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Cadiz, called ‘‘the cup of silver'' is almost African in appearance, its streets lined with palm trees, its churches topped with dome-like cupolas. Take advantage of optional tours to Seville, the irresistible capital and cultural center of Andalusia with its colorful and festive lifestyle.

Day 12: At Sea

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner

Day 13: Lisbon, Portugal

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The capital of Portugal since its conquest from the Moors in 1147, Lisbon is a legendary city with over 20 centuries of history. Spreading out along the right bank of the Tagus, its downtown, the Baixa, is located in the 18th-century area around Rossio. The Alfama, one of the oldest quarters in Lisboa, still retains much of its original layout since it largely survived the earthquake of 1755.

Day 14: Portimão, Portugal

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Portimão is the largest city in the western Algarve, and was traditionally a center for sardine fishing and processing. It makes a great base from which to explore the entire western Algarve. Two of the more popular trips are Lagos and Silves. Lagos was the center for Portugal’s 14th-century age of exploration and Silves served as the Algarve region's ancient capital. The tourist attractions here reflect its rich and extensive history.

Day 15: At Sea

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner

Day 16: Safi, Morocco

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Today, Safi is mainly modern, home to a fishing port and diversified industries. The old town which lies within the city is still very much alive. Here you may be tempted to buy pottery typical of this part of the region.

Day 17: At Sea

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner

Day 18: Santa Cruz, Tenerife

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
The island of Tenerife is bisected by steep volcanic mountains cut by garden-like valleys lush with flowers and vegetation. In the capital of Santa Cruz visit the anthropological museum and learn about the original inhabitants of Tenerife, the stone age Guanche people. Not to be missed is a spectacular drive into the mountains, where 3,718-meter Mount Teide, Spain's tallest mountain, is covered in snow much of the year.

Day 19-28: At Sea

  • Ship
  • 10 Breakfasts, 10 Lunches, 10 Dinners
The Royal Clipper offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges, a revitalizing spa, and a peaceful library.

Day 29: Bridgetown, Barbados | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
On the wild and rugged east coast of Barbados, the isolated beaches are the color of sunrise, the red sands having blown all the way across the Atlantic from the Sahara. The easternmost island of the Windwards, and indeed, of the entire Caribbean, reaches out to Africa and the Old World as if not quite part of the New. Bridgetown, Barbados, is an interesting town full of contrasts. George Washington actually slept here! Trafalgar Square reminds you that the laidback, rum- and fun-loving island's British influenced heritage includes revered traditions like cricket and high tea. Disembark after breakfast and continue your independent trip back home.
