Sail the glittering Mediterranean on this 7-day Greece and Turkey cruise. Explore the cultural and historical cities of Limassol, Antalya, Rhodes, Kusadasi, Athens, and more, disembarking daily for fascinating guided excursions. Admire the towering ruins and wander ancient theatres as you sail from port to port.
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Board the MS La Belle de L'Adriatique in Larnaca. Settle in to your cabin and enjoy a welcome cocktail, meet the crew, and familiarize yourself with the ship. Dinner is served on board as the ship moors for the night.
Enjoy a breakfast buffet on board as the ship cruises towards Turkey, then set off on an optional excursion to Khirokitia and Lefkara. Begin with Khirokitia, an archaeological site dating from the Neolithic age, which was occupied from the 7th until the 4th millennium BC. Then continue to the village of Lefkara, famous for its silver handicrafts and lace, known as 'lefkaritika.' According to tradition, Leonardo da Vinci was said to have purchased a lace cloth for the main altar of Milan Cathedral. Take some free time to stroll along the village alleyways to discover the local arts and crafts. Return to the ship for lunch, then spend the remainder of the day cruising.
Breakfast is served as the ship continues to cruise the Mediterranean, giving you the chance to relax on deck or join in on on-board activities. Also enjoy lunch before disembarking for an optional excursion to visit Perge and Aspendos. Perge has seen two golden ages, the first during the Hellenistic era and the second under the Romans, and it is truly one of the most beautiful ancient cities in the Antalya region. Visit the ruins of the Agora and its stadium before continuing on to Aspendos, considered to be one of the best preserved Roman amphitheatres of ancient times. Built during the 2nd century AD, it is still used as a venue today for concerts, operas, ballets and other shows. Return to the ship and sail towards Rhodes.
As you cruise through the morning, enjoy breakfast and lunch on board. Arrive in Rhodes in the early afternoon and take an optional excursion to this ancient, medieval town. Set off from the port and head for Mount Smith, from where you can revel in a magnificent panoramic view of Rhodes Town and the surrounding countryside. Reach the highest point of the medieval town, the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, an imposing fortress with luxuriously decorated interiors and a courtyard adorned with Roman statues. The museum has several wonderful mosaics, also from Roman times. Afterwards, continue along the narrow and straight Avenue of the Knights, which has cobblestones typical of the area. The avenue is lined with prestigious inns where the Knights of the Order of Rhodes used to stay according to their language and country of origin. Today, the street still has a certain air of nobility and inaccessibility about it. Admire the rich Gothic-style decorations, arched windows, terraced roofs and smooth flat honey-colored facades of the buildings before returning to the ship.
Spend the morning cruising the Mediterranean and arrive in Kusadasi in the early afternoon. Set off by coach for an optional excursion to Ephesus. On the road leading to this ancient site, view the ruins of Artemis Temple, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Journey through these magnificent ruins watching for Hadrian's Temple, Celsus Library and the Great Theatre. Follow in the footsteps of Cleopatra and Mark Anthony as you walk along the Arcadian Way. The discovery tour of the site ends with a stop at the ruins of the Basilica of St John, which was built in the 2nd century AD. The frescos, mosaics and pillars are testament to its glorious past. In the evening, enjoy a Gala as the ship sets sail for Athens.
Sail for Athens and relax on the sun deck through the morning. Arrive in Athens in the early afternoon and set off on the optional excursion 'Athens and the Acropolis.' Discover the site of the Acropolis, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheion, which is complete with its graceful Caryatids in place of columns. The imposing Parthenon, dedicated to the goddess Athena, is the perfect backdrop, allowing you to imagine how things looked back in Ancient Greek times. A panoramic tour by coach of the modern town of Athens will give you a brief glimpse of life today in the Greek capital before returning on board at the end of the afternoon. Enjoy dinner on board, followed by a Folklore Evening in the lounge/bar. Remain in port overnight.

Everything was amazing! The planning with Adventure Life went smoothly. The actual trip was fantastic! One of the best trips I have experienced. The cruise staff members were knowledgeable and attentive. I will be writing more about this on the blog!

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
