Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
After a flight from mainland Ecuador to Baltra airport, a guide will meet you and accompany you to the Itabaca Channel. From here cross the channel by barge and then continue to Puerto Ayora by bus to board the yacht. Enjoy a light snack and run through orientation before the first excursion to the Charles Darwin Research Station and its Interpretive Center. Enjoy watching giant tortoises in their natural environment. Return to the port for a walk through the little town. There are various handicrafts made here. Then return to the boat for a welcome cocktail and dinner.
The first excursion of the day will be to Santa Fe Island to visit the cactus forest and a colony of land iguanas. For those who would like to swim, snorkel, and kayak, this is a great location to do so. After breakfast, start the day with a trip to Chinese Hat (Sombrero Chino), a small island off the coast of Santiago Island. It got its name from the unique shape of the island that resembles a hat. This is an excellent snorkeling site and there will be time for those who would like to swim, snorkel, and kayak.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.

I spoke with at least a half dozen other travel companies, looking for a Galapagos cruise that fit our schedule and budget. Some companies could manage one or the other, but Erin was the only one who could do both. She found us the perfect cruise, at a fantastic price! And she has been quick and patient with responses to my many questions. So far, Adventure Life has been a fantastic company to work with!
