Day 1: Seymour Island & Bachas Beach

  • 1 Lunch
This full day tour starts at 8:00 AM from the Hotel Silberstein.

The day tour offers travelers the golden chance to get to know the northern island Seymour as well as Bachas beach.

Transfer by bus to the yacht at Itabaca Channel. Witness the awakening of the archipelago throughout the one hour cruise to Seymour Island. Disembark straight to the rocky coast near a small forest consisting of gray and silver trees called the Palo Santo (Holy Stick), which is without leaves for most of the year.

Seymour Island is famous for its large colonies of different bird species. Watch male frigatebirds attract females during breeding time with their unique red chest pouches, or observe the famous Galapagos blue-footed boobies do their impressive courtship dance. Other highlights of this excursion are the small cliffs along the beach, the observation of seagulls, many sea lions, marine iguanas and pelicans. Most of these animals will be just an arm's length away!

Your freshly cooked lunch consists of two courses, and is served back on the yacht. During siesta time, the yacht continues to Bachas beach at the Northern coast of Santa Cruz. Upon arrival, we suggest a short hike to a flamingo pond just behind the beach. Afterwards, refresh with swimming and snorkeling at this remote, breathtaking beach with white sand and turquoise water! Sea lions, different kind of rays, tortoises, and tropical fish may join your underwater experience!

The return to Puerto Ayora is approximately at 2:30 PM.

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
